You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Can someone help me here…. I want to trade in a extra iphone I have, but the new IP13 I'm gonna buy is to be given as a gift.

Does it matter if I technically upgrade an existing line on my account but ultimately being used by someone else on a different account/line?

Also, does this complicate anything if I still keep using my existing phone on the line I'm upgrading for this offer?

Nope. You have to purchase the phone online and pick up in store. Cannot make the purchase with this trade in deal inside the store. Just happened with me 30 mins ago.

I got it to work! Went in the store and they had to do the email code and not text it. It took a while for me to get it. Trade in initially came in $200 lower than the promo says but it fixed itself on the next screen.

iPhones can be used on any carriers as I believe there is no distinction between GSM and CDMA models any more.

Prob a YMMV kinda thing. Likely depends on managers and rep working on trade in.

I had to make a change to a trade in value because there was no option for a 16GB 6S plus on BB site. (I purposely entered 32GB for a family member)

Preorder came in>Got to store> they canceled my trade in order>inventoried the phone to store> resold to us for the same correct value and 16GB spec.

Rep managed to charge me for an additional sim card, but I got the price adjusted the next day. Same price as online.

Mine just took 2-3 days, contact T-Force on Twitter, submitted unlock request and then it took another 48 hours and my phone was unlocked, no sim restrictions
