You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

If you are a Costco member you can check out that thread for incentives. Phone choices are limited and you have to buy what's in stock but I got 920 in rebates for opening two lines Buy One, get one $720 off. It was my 55th birthday so I went straight to the two for 90 Magenta Max deal. Second best deal in the industry if you ask me, only surpassed by earlier editions of Magenta Military.

I got two Black iPhone 13 with 128GB storage for $1500. I was able to use the new account to conduct a transaction through Best Buy for trade-in - "upgrade" option was not closed off to me and still remains in place as I wait for the first of my rebates.

Good luck - sorry if you did not get quick feedback but your question is fairly complex. If you go to T-Mobile store you can get offers for bill credits which is what all us SDers are trying to avoid by reading these threads.

You won't get out of the store with the new phone unless you bring in the old one. Some folks get free assistance from sales rep, others are forced to charge you $40 for an assist via store WiFi.

My wife was account holder for this morning's trade in. I did a hybrid - the transaction was in my name but I knew her SSN, phone number and she promptly forwarded me the text to confirm the account. YMMV but he did not force me to open the box or activate the new SIM which could have ended my wife's phone service abruptly. Your brother could always add you as an authorized user of his account.

if u want new lines, best deals is at costco, they give u $300/line up to 2 lines, also have bogo upto $720 off (cannot combine both costo promo per line)
for tmo, u can stack different promo on same line as long as u qualify and different promo. Usually for tmo, upto 4 same promo per account.

Just order at best buy in Costa Mesa and was taxed on $124.99 for total of $135 for trading in my 12 pro max for 13 pro max.

I have saved 2-3 thousand this way. Costco purchase at right time plus three Best Buy trade-in promos across two TMo accounts. Net discount on Apple hardware is 50% with no long-term commitments and most phones on track to be unlocked at or before 40 days post-activation.

Just did a trade-in for 2 iPhone 12 pro for 2 iPhone 13 pro, I still have monthly payments (with discounts) on both phone but had no issues using them for the trade-in.
I spoke with T-Mobile and they said I will not lose my discounts as long as I keep the number.
Didn't really need to upgrade but for $100 it was worth it.

Yeah, it was new to me cause I drove over an hr to the only Best Buy that had them in stock so wasn't familiar with verification process or fraud prevention process. They rep assured me that I was the only one that thought it was an unusual process. He said every trade in from games to iPads get photos taken here.

I don't have Costco in my city. And I have phones to trade-in so BestBuy seems better for me. It's just I'm not clear to get the cheapest plans from TMo for this offer. Thanks though.
