You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Not sure. The first one they didn't make me activate the SIM, they just sent it with me. The second one, the guy had me click through on my phone and activate the SIM, but they didn't make me put the SIM in the phone. So if you're wanting to use the phone on another carrier chances seem ok that they won't make you open the phone in front of them and insert the SIM, but hard to say. Regardless, the best route (in my opinion) is to activate on T-Mobile and get T-Force to unlock it. It's just a few days and it's fully unlocked.

If I go instore to place the order, would I still be paying tax on the original cost of the phone? This is for CA.

It all depends upon the BB associate. The one I dealt with asked me I wanted to activate the new SIM card which comes with the phone. He didn't open the phone. Since i wanted to use it on TM itself I asked him to activate it and later when I put the SIM in the phone i was good to go.

Tax is dependent upon the state (on original cost or cost after trade in). I do not think it matters online vs in store. I placed the order online. In my state tax was on reduced cost after trade-in. My order got cancelled. I went to store. BB associated recreated the order in his system and I got same price/deal as online.

I've done 3 trade-ins this week.
Each time I went inside to the online pick up counter.
From there the BB associate got my iPhone and walked me over to the mobile center.

It was actually really easy and painless to do the trade in.

3 phones and all 3 I activated at home.
Zero problems
No issues.
