You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!
Jon

I am trading in my T-Mobile iPhone 12. It is currently on EIP with monthly bill credits. Do I need to pay it off in full prior to handing it over to Best Buy? Or can I trade it in with it still on EIP and still receive the monthly bill credits in my T-Mobile account?

Contact T-Force via Twitter, Messenger, or T-Mobile app.

Not sure about the current unlocking rules. It usually is 40 days but I think some others here have reported successful unlock requests already. That being said, I believe you would have to activate it first to show in the system.
Yes I was able to successfully request unlocks with in 3 days, they denied on Twitter but the Facebook rep was very helpful and unlocked both my phones within 48 hrs

If you cancel the act, no longer with TM, how will they unlock the phone( since you are no longer the "customer")

My first 13 Pro, I requested an unlock on a Saturday and I believe it was unlocked by the following Tuesday afternoon. The second one I requested an unlock this past Wednesday evening. Still waiting on that one. No clue how long to expect, but really need it to go through so I can trade my last phone in.

My wife will use the phone initially on AT&T Prepaid as she has some time left on her current service. So need it unlocked for her to use on AT&T, and I'm trading her phone in once she is able to switch to the new 13 Pro. Then once her AT&T service runs out we'll either be on T-Mobile or cricket.

What process? Can I just order online without trade in, pick up in store/return right away just to do the trade in with the same exact ordered phone?
I don't know about that route. My process was give them order #, ID, tradein phone, walked out with the new phone within 15 minutes.

Maybe CA has different Tax law on online orders? I am in bay area and all my 5 online orders were taxed on full amount.
The scheduled pick up date is 11/12~ 11/19.
I will try to cancel and reorder with different credit card when picking up.
If the rep can charge the tax on remaining amount instead, that would save me about $400.

Here is my payment for one13 max 256G on 10/28.
Item Total:
$318.74

Product Price:
$224.99

Discounts
Trade-in Allowance
-$775.00
Trade-in Promotion
-$200.00

Sales Tax, Fees & Surcharges:
$93.75
I believe many people had mentioned that different states have different tax laws in regards to this type of thing. From what i have seen, all the people from NY seem to have only been taxed on remaining balance. However, i have seen people from CA say some paid tax on full device and some on remaining balance so not exactly sure whats happening in CA..

When the deal started, yes, may here in Cali got the deal online where the tax was less, and some from SD also get the lesser tax while in store.

I was the one who did not lucked out as I was about the pay online orders, the carts showed less tax, but would not allow me to order.

I then wait for few hrs, then system allowed me to order for later pick up, but the tax went back for Cali normal.

Yes, BB taxing system is probably having issue

One SD here suggested I go into the store and try, which I have not done so.

As much as the next SDer who would like to save on the tax, I am not going to sweat it as this type of deal is hard to come by with good trade in value, and no future pmt/credit/contract.

Plus I got to use PP for payment method online which would gives 5% CB, and the UR points are worth lots in my lifestyle.

How did you all do this trade-in without a state issued id? I'm curious since I was denied a trade in because I didn't have one (lost dl).

Yes, BB tax system is pretty messed up in CA. I ordered from the same store as other member here and got tax close to full price while other member got discount tax. Other theory is it depends on TM's paln, but that doesn't seem right also.

Cali
I get taxed full amount online no matter which Cali store I choose.
Went to store and was charged the discounted amount. If you ask the rep they will tell you will get tax full amount but if you go through the process it only tax the discounted amount.
It is not dependent on kind of T-Mobile plan you have.
