Traded in my first 12 Pro for the 13 pro last week, all online. Worked but had to pay sales tax on $800 of it (SoCal). Total was ~$175
Tried doing it for a second phone and it worked, but had to cancel as I found out a closer store had it in stock. No matter how many times I tried, the verification code stopped coming in.
Went to the store and still had some issues, but they ended up working it out and I upgraded another phone successfully. Best part was the tax I was charged was only on the $100 due. Saved $65 doing it in store. I had my old SIM out and they were trying to charge me $10 for a new one, so I had them remove that.
For those with stock near you in CA, head to the store and try your luck there. You'll save on tax

The issue with socal is that you have to sprint down there hoping no one would snatch it, either in store, or place an order online lol
we both lucked out

The trade in was relatively easy. I traded my 11. I chose to have the BB employee activate and transfer my data for me. It took about an hour. In the end I had issues with cellular data and reception which I didn't discover until I left. I took it to a local TM and the tech there said the issue was 1) the BB employee needed to remove the old sim out of the old phone; 2) some iPhones don't like using the physical SIM card and prefers the eSIM. So after the SIM card was removed from the 13 Pro Max the phone worked perfectly.
Whats funny is the Blue Sierra was ready for pickup on 11/19 (same day as order) but I waited till today 11/20 to pick it up and this morning the Space Grey was ready for pick up (3 days after backordering)
