You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Its not clear when is the earliest I can cancel t-mobile service but still can get the phone unlocked. Can someone please answer this?? TIA.

Got 800 trade in for my 11 from T-Mobile + (AirPods 2 + charger + case + screen protector for 'free') would be worth checking with T-Mobile directly since Best Buy phones are gonna be locked too

You probably got scammed. Only the airpods are free after rebate. Charger/screen protector/case are not.
