I helped a friend trade-in their Straight Talk "Verizon" 12 minis today. Different store, same easy routine. When you setup the online store pickup, the only times you need to talk are:
1) I'm here for an online pickup of __#__ of phones and trade-in. Should I go to pickup or mobile desk?
2) Here is my emailed pickup barcode and driver's license
3) I have a trade-in for the phone. Here it is.
4) My Best Buy phone number is ______
5) My email address is _____
6) Thank you
Some notes:
1) In my experience, the reps only do a cursory glance of the trade-in phone. They don't go past the hello screen, they don't really examine the phone, and they don't open the sim card tray / check water damage indicator.
2) Trade-ins gets placed in a ziplock bag with the trade-in receipt then are dropped (unprotected) into a trade-in bin. My heart stopped each time I heard the thud of a trade-in hitting another.
3) Folks really do argue and push the reps. Apparently the T-mobile to Best Buy connection was down in the store today (or it could be they just weren't able to activate lines like usual) and a person was upset he couldn't create his account and get new phones with trade-ins. Yelling how yesterday was the same. This is why you should setup everything online and do store pickup, you will be in and out in 10 mins.
I am going to pickup some orders tomorrow, and see them already with IMEIs on t-mobile.com under EIPs (for a couple bucks a month of course)
Why do people post here when they have zero knowledge about how a deal really works. Just STFU if you don't know what you're talking about rather than create confusion and issues for others with misinformation.
i have 4 lines. would like to port all numbers but do only 3 phones as trade in
do i start with one then add others to first Tmobile account?
if i chose pay in full, can i unlock, cancel t mobile and stay with ATT?
its giving me an error setting up for the tmobile background check info

which plan to chose?
edit: and will it be locked to ATT or remain unlocked once i put my sim?
Unless they changed, it was not
I have done few phones since intro, they were taxed differently
No on t mobile
