1. First went to walmart store and bought straight talk 12 mini for $299+tax
2. Then went to Costco and signed up for 2 lines free in BYOD $300 offer, I asked them to sign me up for $20 plan for both, they had to call in to TMobile CS and they did. Then they signed me up for rebate from their side. They also needed to assign each line to 2 unlocked IMEIs to sign me up (I used my and my wife phone IMEIs). They do a "soft credit" check if that bothers anyone. Net cost zero (no SIM charges though they gave me 2)
3. Went to bestbuy, temp switched my phone sim with new TMobile sim I signed up with, rep had to verify my account with last 4 SSN and then a verification code they send via text to the new number. Wife wanted pink iphone 13 but it wasnt in stock, got the one they had (blue).
4. I gave the new iphone 12 mini from straight talk and he asked if I had reset it and removed find my phone lock, to which I said yes. I was hoping to replace the unopened blue iphone with different color in next 14 days but the BB rep said he MUST activate the phone first
5.He made a mistake, he did not chose "one time pay" and instead had the balance of the device to be paid monthly over 36 months. I was hoping to pay the remaining $170 right there, but now I have to call in and pay that amount to Tmobile.
6. Once that is done, will request to unlock iphone 13 with TMobile via FB. And also raise $300 BYOD rebate and let you know how that goes.
Netcost,
iphone 12 mini - $299 + tax
Costco 2 lines - $20 x 2 I assume for 2-3 months
iphone 13 - $170 + tax
------------------------------------------------
Total - Paid $610 with tax, got an unlocked iphone 13 (128gb) and hopefully $600 costco gift card

The phone from walmart is locked to straight talk, right? Would that work for Costco T-Mobile sign up? Or you used a different phone at Costco?
