You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Try it, worst thing that can happen is it doesn't work.
If there are extra steps like driving 50 miles for an AT&T sim card, you can always try your luck, activate it with T-Mobile and request an unlock a few days after, claiming international travel, I've done this with at least 8 phones without any problem.

You don't need tmobile account to check inventory, just select the model details and check for next locations availability at first page itself

No, you don't, it shows up below the "Add to Cart" button after selecting the provider / model / capacity / color.
