I remembered a long time ago they requested finger print for trade in too and gave then ID to scan but not literally type everything from the ID.

So if I do the trade in on this deal, at most is:
finger print, ID, last 4 ssn and payment like cc but what if I want to only use gc?

And having read some comments... if you're in CA, the online purchase seems to be taxed for the full price, so why gamble online. The one caveat in-store is that they'll ask you to remove your case and screen protector to do an initial inspection, if it passes you have to keep that phone just as they saw it for when the 13PM finally gets there. So you'll either need to find an extra screen protector or be very careful with scratches.

So what your saying is that if I have tmobile sim and 12 mini trade in I can go now even when the 13 I wanted is oos? If so then the 2nd visit to BB I will have to bring the same 12 mini to do the actual trade in and payment?

Thanks for your help! Was able to pick up the was with out activating the phone with t mobile service. So the next step is to contact tforce and get it unlocked without activating the T-Mobile service?

Sorry that's not going to work. T-mobile needs to see your device on the network to unlock it. Since you have an account, probably not a big deal to put the sim in and contact T-force. Make sure you mention it was bought at Best buy and fully paid off.

Alternatively you could go to the apple store, get an ATT sim, put that in and then go to their unlock portal to get it done. I have no experience with this process but others in this thread talked about it. The only problem I heard is you can't use an ATT sim that's tied to a real account - this is why you go to the apple store to get a new, unused one.

What do you mean by third? I unlocked my 13's with the AT&T trick. Since the Best Buy rep did not put a T-Mobile chip in my phones, I put an inactive ATT chip and then went to the ATT unlock portal and requested the unlock
