You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!

Did you read the whole post? Maybe you should do that first
Trade-in devices will never come back. No matter where you do the tradein bestbuy, verizon, att, apple etc etc..

Can someone please help? I have the same issue and afraid the deal will be dead soon.

"Bestbuy.com:"Something's wrong. The phone number and last 4 of SSN combination you entered doesn't match carrier records. Please try again." Anyone ever encountered this when doing the upgrade? It is a newly activated T-mobile account."
I saw this error as well. It's so frustrating because BB said somethings wrong on Tmobiles side and Tmobile said everything looks good on their side.

The only way I could get this deal is by moving my line to a different Tmobile account. Make sure to check if the new account's SSN works on BB before migrating.

Another option is to get your account last 4 SSN updated at a T-mobile store.

So if you get the unlock request done can you do it without opening the phone box? To Sell or to gift?

Depends on a good rep, some have got it unlocked without putting a TMO SIM.

No i mean if I keep the phone on the plan for 40 days; can I get a code from Tmo or do I need to unlock using their app as that would require opening up the phone. Tforce should work right?

These phones and sims not being used on a line is okay as well? They are active but not in use technically.

Sounds like the ATT thing is an option to unlock asap and just requires an ATT sim as the first sim in these phones......possibly free from ATT store (just walk in and ask for one?).

You will need to open the box if you want to unlock the phone. TMO - unlock after 40 days "active", so you will need to insert the TMO sim and ask for unlock. Even if reaching TForce, same thing.
AT&T method: you'll need to insert inactive ATT sim to register on ATT side. So there isn't a way to unlock without opening.

Thanks and Repped; I did not get in on this deal but did a BOGO with a lot of complexities at Costco but the unlock question applies!

There is no unlock app for TMO on iPhones , you have to call the rep if you want to get it unlocked without using the phone on their network for 40 days. Some people did find reps who unlocked it without them even opening the phone. If you want to sell or gift without opening, then the ATT option is moot.

Just go to apple store and get an att sim. Put that in the new iPhone and then go to https://att.com/deviceunlock

Request unlock as not customer and use a valid email address. Make sure to click the confirm your request when they send you email

Alright guys. Picked up another 13 pro on friend's tmobile account. This time the best buy rep did not open the new phone to activate

I use visible (verizon mvno). If i use another friend's verizon sim (active postpaid) to activate my new iphone 13, it should be automatically unlocked after 60 days, correct? Meanwhile, the phone will also work on visible too? Did I get that right?

I upgraded 6 phones over the last several weeks. 2 Pros and 4 Minis. I got them all unlocked via Tforce on Twitter. 1 of 3 unlock requests got lost in transit and I had to follow up twice and it took more than a week.

The last 2 ones which were unlocked today the rep was fine with the Best Buy receipts and the IMEIs. They would have probably been unlocked without opening the box. But I opened them anyway after submitting request to confirm unlock in settings.
