I requested TMobile to unlock and they did. The phones are unopened.
Is there any way to verify and confirm if they are unlocked without opening them.

This is just so that I can sell them as unopened and unlocked.

Any suggestions or thoughts please share.

How is this deal expired? Soooo,,, I've been trying to get a 512GB 13 Pro Graphite/Blue with my XS Max,, but my tmobile biz account won't work. Fortunately a friend was to help me, but because the 512GBs are hard to come by and you need to have the account holder give you the code, it took basically every day since Saturday- checking stock, refresh refresh all damn day.. and then of course timing it so my friend was awake!

Finally, the *graphite* 512GB popped up, the one I really wanted! So this afternoon I used my Amazon card to buy $875 worth of BB gift cards (5% cash back),, and as luck would have it,, Jeff's billion $ DC went down! Took several hours to finally cancel it so I could then use my PayPal/Freedom to buy the gift cards (5%) on BB's website.

I learned a trick. If you add the phone to your shopping cart go all the way in to the payment section,, you can keep refreshing it and keep it in your account until you had to pay. I was worried stock would run out again!

tl;dr- i shoulda just used PP or bought directly through tmobile and trade my phone in for $400 vs the $485 at BB. Slick be damned.. wasted a lot of time. o_O

So you have postpaid or or prepaid. Did she say no charge to turn on data?

I have a monthly plan. She didnt say anything other than, "Ill turn it on for you. Not sure its going to work." But my brother signed up in Florida (Im in California) and he said they offered him the deal with data. He hasn't been able to check yet either. The lady on the phone said shes worked at t-mobile for 20 years and hasn't seen this deal ever. "it must be new" she added.

The new default when generating iPhone search result pages is to place you on the stupid installment plan. Directly underneath that button was the button you wanted to click which says "activate today" even though most times no activations occur. When the deal first launched in September the integration between Best Buy and TMo was so poor that you did not even have a bill credits/installments option. Cancelling a placed order can create new issues but if you don't want an installment plan just cancel and re-order before terms change again with the next Best Buy circular.

For TMo customer service to unlock, the SIM card must go into the phone so it is a "known" device on their network. In September they were accepting receipts and phone info and sending it to a third party company who promised unlock within 72 hours. I understand some folks were wanting to gift wrap a sealed box as a holiday gift so they were looking to unlock a phone in a sealed box. It is inherently pseudo-unlocked because of the "universal flex" implementation by Apple.

There are IMEI checker sites that used to be free but now charge fees for SIM lock status - this site wanted 79 cents to confirm status of one of my unlocked Best Buy phones

Do you know how long will it take to auto cancel? While getting the iphone, I initiated my current number port which was a mistake. I should have just went with a new line. Due to this, I am not able to port this number to a different carrier since Tmobile has "port lock" on that number.

Didn't see this mentioned on wiki: Is it possible to trade in a phone currently on a payment plan? I upgraded to the 12 on AT&T in November but due to some issues with Walmart haven't been able to pay it off yet. Would I be able to the phone trade in towards this deal?

Also, If I understand the numbers correctly I'd get $675 credit and then pay $25 plus full tax on the device? And also maybe the $70 per month for two months to get it unlocked?

If it's postpaid, they are going to ask for your SSN and also verify with those quiz on which house you lived in a or b or c etc. You have to sit through that exam. It's funny as to why they need to check for credit check for $20/month

I am not sure about prepaid but I don't think they have to do credit check for that.
