You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!

My bestbuy order page says "Mobile Plan Activated" even I never put that t-mobile sim in any phones. What about yours?
The deals began when TMobile agreed to use Best Buy as a new retail outlet with the release of iPhone 13. The company-to-company integration is officially open but VERY weak - like the code was written on the back of a napkin and pressed in place with a wad of chewing gum. Folks who were eager to have their Best Buy SIM activated would comment about going back to Best Buy site to push additional buttons to make the register scan lead to meaningful action. Most of us who had a TMo account did not really care to go the extra mile and just re-purposed our still-active SIM cards running our already-active phone numbers. And, yes, the original deal is now three months old: https://slickdeals.net/f/15286108-trade-in-apple-phone-get-200-off-apple-iphone-13-5g-t-mobile-smartphone-from-500-w-activation-free-store-pickup?v=1&page=66

The original thread died when someone clicked "Deal is Dead" and started this replacement thread.

I remembered the BB person said he has to scan the new Tmobile sim card and the 13 to activate it.

So I guess I should ask what happens if I don't use the new tmobile sim?
If you ordered a new TMobile service in order to get this deal then there is a strong possibility that those Best Buy register scans did NOTHING on the TMo side and the TMo account will be auto-cancelled for failure to activate the phone number associated with the transaction.

Could you please update if you were able to upgrade using your plan?
Plans with corporate discounts were blocked. This idea that a $20 talk and text plan is more inherently upgradeable than other consumer post-paid plans is news to me. "Downgrade so you can upgrade." I believe this consumer has already completed a transaction and if they don't do too much with the new card the whole TMo service order will auto-cancel. What exactly are YOU trying to do?

Daughter went to the store to buy the phone and do the trade-in, so no best buy account was created.

Before I could stop her, she put in the new TMo sim and turned on the 13 mini, turned it off, and inserted her Tello sim and got Tello service. No welcome emails from TMo so far. Her Tello plan expires Dec 24 so will see if I can add the Essentials 55+ for her (and my mom) after the 25th.

Well - if she likes Tello she will be OK - she would just cancel any new TMo service. If unlimited service is desirable then the Essentials is a nice plan. Visible is cheaper after discount but speed is capped and deprioritization leaves data unusable at times. Full speed 5G on the device is MUCH nicer via Essentials 55 plan - it only slows down if you are a big data hog all month long

I have my iphone 13 pro unlocked by t-moble. Does that mean physical sim slot is unlocked and e-sim will still show SIM locked?

No - unlocked is completely unlocked - run whatever you want on the e-SIM, the regular SIM or both simultaneously!

I got the $20 tmobile unl talk/text only postpaid plan just for this deal and and never inserted the new BB tmobile sim card.

So if those new sims do get auto canceled tmobile/BB will not care right?

Also is it safe to keep these new sims for future unlock use/status checks?

I had the same thing with Walmart. Don't worry about additional charges. There aren't any.

I did all my orders using existing TMo accounts. I'm intrigued by all the SDers who decided to open postpaid service plans to join in on the deal.

I cannot guarantee that auto-canceled customers are home free. So far, there has been an awful lot of flexibility due to new, expanded partnership between Best Buy and T-Mobile. Will they hunt folks down over $200 incentive? Marketing dollars get burned by the millions in this industry with many "loss leaders" to try to generate new activity. We shall see. I don't have to worry because what I did was legit and the most they can do is disable my "upgrade" button under TMo website for a certain amount of time to offset the $200 incentive.

I've kept all my TMo SIMs in case I need them for future phone activations - I don't believe they were burned when scanned at Best Buy register

I have used about 6-8 sim cards to replace all the old sim cards on my account and my brother account. Technically all the sim cards that included still not being used yet.

Thanks, but I'm still on t-mobile and using e-sim only and it still show SIM locked even after they unlocked. I don't have any other SIM to test other plan.

You can blow five bucks putting Visible on the e-SIM just to get your settings to show "No Carrier Restrictions." I put in a Visible physical SIM this morning and watched the phone do a weird reactivation on the Apple servers. T-Mobile said I either do that or a bunch of weird iTunes steps to backup and restore the phone.

So if I have the $20 unl talk/text service active at the time of the 13 deals its safe to say that w/o using the new Tmobile sim cards that was given by BB in the long run we should be fine?

I can't answer that because and I don't know how that works. All the sims that came with the phone, I used some of them to updated all the old ones that didn't have R15 by went into both accounts and updated the sim # and the old sim deactivated instantly when I submitted the changed. Also still have like 10+ more left. Sorry I couldn't answer your question!
