Thanks all for the advice around getting companion pass! Opted for the $149 card since it essentially pays for itself every year ($75 southwest credit and 7500 points annually).

Here's my plan for anyone who might benefit from it:

- Before 2022, spend UNDER $2000 (I'm aiming for $1800 to have a buffer) so that the 50,000 point bonus does not hit in this calendar year.

- In Jan (and before the 3 months from start of account) spend the remaining amount to get to $2000 for the first 50,000 bonus. (Total 50,000 points for 2022 towards 125,000 companion pass)

- SPEND LIKE CRAZY, to get the remaining of the 12k as quickly as possible. Second 50,000 point bonus hits after this. (Total 100,000 points towards 125,000 companion pass)

- In the course of this, in 2022, should accrue at least 10k points from spending point accrual (110,000 points towards 125,000 companion pass)

- for the remaining $15k points needed, either refer someone to the card for 20,000 points, or just migrate more of my spending to this card.

The goal is to get to 125,000 points accrued in 2022, as soon as possible in the calendar year to secure companion pass for the remaining months of 2022 and through all of 2023.

Thanks all, and good luck!
Also offering free canceled flights!
For spending using credit card, you can have minimum federal taxes deducted at your income source/salary etc and pay estimated taxes every quarter using credit card. 1.96% credit card fee is well offset by credit card point value/benefits. I have been doing that since I started cc churning. Just an idea for churners!

I had my credit frozen, after applying I unfroze them and called application team at this number 8772600084, they ran my application again and said approved with in minutes. And expedited my card. I would recommend calling and talking to agent instead of automated message
Thanks. Called the 8772600084 number and hit the "lending Services" Dept. After a brief wait, I connected to live person who told me that my application is being decisioned. She had no other insights. Then told me that the application is with "Lending Acquisition" Dept. and gave me their number which is 888-609-7805, and transferred me. Been on hold for 15 mins with no one answering Frown Prob just gonna give up in another 2-3 mins

All 3 personal cards have 100k bonus not just priority. This will be my 4th consecutive priority pass too, me and my wife alternate every two years.
so youre suggesting I apply for the Plus? Does Chase allow you to have more than 1 RR CC? I know they used to not allow it.

Payment due date is 25 days after statement close. So that means first statement closes on December 24th. Meaning that even if you apply on last day and get approved instantly statement will close on 12/31. I think I will apply now then and just ask them to change it. If anyone has any different data points, please share.

My closing date was December 27. I called and had them move it to Jan 5. No issues. So, I should be good to start using the card as all points won't post now until 22.

No, chase doesn't allow two cards from same family. As I mentioned earlier you need to cancel other before you apply for plus.

wow, crazy. More time to review my application. First time ever. My feelings Frown

Denied for having gotten the southwest bonus within the last 24 months. The chase rep said I haven't had a southwest card for over 6 years. Lending is closed for now. Ill dispute it tomorrow morning.

If biz cards count, then I farked up.

The only SW personal card I got was back in 2016. The Premier card. I've never had the Plus card.

Google "pay federal taxes using credit card" and pay any amount via 1040ES towards your 2021 taxes which you will get refunded when you file your 2021 taxes.

Just checked. Referral to personal cards dropped to 40K bonus but to business card still shows 80K. Don't know for how long. So hurry
Yes it dropped to 40k bonus. The referral page link for personal and business cards for the past 45 days or so has always said OFFER EXPIRES 12/1/2021 so that offer just expired as one would expect it to.

The link from the Slickdeals link says it expires 12/7/2021 at 6pm ET so I think there is 4 days left on this offer through this link.

If my next statement closes on 1/1, does that mean any money spent in December will close Jan 1 and points towards companion will all be in 2022? Thanks

"Anne ,your statement closed on December 1, 2021. Your statement closing date is on the 1st of each month. You can view your monthly statements online within three to five days after their closing dates, if not sooner. If you're enrolled in paperless statements, you can view them the day after the closing date. You'll also receive an email notification when your statement is available."

My closing date 4th of month. My earning so far posted today already in my Rapid Reward account ( I didn't hit bonus threshold) . So, I suggest to calling again to see if they can move your date to 1st.
