Thanks! No external monitors. I am paying.
Right on.

If it were me, I'd probably budget for a cost effective dock (<$50), monitor(s), mouse, and optionally a keyboard.

I find myself much more productive with a couple screens: reference screen 1 while creating an email, presentation, coding, etc. on screen 2. I was even decently satisfied with a basic dock, mouse, single monitor, while using the keyboard of the laptop and the laptops screen as my second screen. (Recently got back to 2 full monitors.) The size difference between screens bothers some people too much; just bothers me a little. Still, much better than single screen IMHO.

I feel like you could get a laptop with good ROI for your use for about $600 or so.

Based on current deals it seems like I made a mistake when decided to wait for better deals and didn't jump on TUF 17" deal for my kiddo few weeks ago...
So you would say that that 17 TUF (for $780) was a better deal? Thanks

So I decided to do the GF65. I think this is mostly the better laptop, but mining can help me recoup the cost in 10 months. This gives roundabout time of ETH switch. Also not buying to specifically mine, but to offset cost was just too good

Yes I'm sure plenty will tell me about how bad this is etc. It can be kept at mid 50s temp core clock and low 70s mem temp. I checked into all of the data. Called up MSI to confirm taking battery out doesn't void warranty etc.

Hard to say, to be honest.
Ryzen 7 5800H has more cores/threads/clock speed.
The rest seems to be same or around. TUF screen was 144Hz vs Dell 120Hz, but quality/color accuracy almost the same. Tho TUF was 17" with slightly better thermal, was cheaper and there was few open boxes near my place for less than $740 (and returns without (?) original package for even less).

All gaming laptop more than 5 pounds ?
Product Weight 5.39 pounds
I bought this then returned it (build quality, some installation issues, bulkiness) and instead picked up the G14 which is built way better, lasts 3x as long on battery and only weighs 3.5lb. Somewhat of a price difference but definitely worth it imo.

The real question, can it play Genshin Impact?
On low at 720P. The M1 Pro/Max eats this for breakfast.

I have a G15 with a GTX 3060. Loving it so far, and that has been great for Genshin, though the noisy fans unexpectedly still spin up. Be aware that the 240w power adapter is very heavy, and the brick power supply literally weighs like brick. I use it for work and need to use it onsite, so I was prepared for the weight of a 15" laptop but the brick weight still surprised me. I picked up a less powerful 120W Dell power supply that was half the weight and I'm much happier. I don't game away from home, so I don't expect to require much power to keep the batteries charged. Be aware the GTX 3050 comes with two USB 2.0 ports instead of USB 3.1 ports on the side. The back is the same for all models with one usbc and one USB 3.1 port.

Depends on your work really. 8 GB is usable but I'd want at least 16 GB of RAM personally, even for just like MS Teams and office work. Possibly more if using VMs or other development related stuff. The CPU and dedicated graphics seem plenty strong for most work IMHO.
Agreed. Teams is brutal. Between that and Chrome, my memory was nearly maxed out at 8gb.

I know that asking it to have a 240W USB-C port is a big ask, but can this laptop at least be charged via USB-C? It's so nice when my wife and I can just pack one laptop PSU and be done, bonus points if that charger can top up a power bank.

My apologies for lack of info.

Remoting into work system. Using the basic Office programs. Thats about it. Very basic. Just want a laptop with decent speed when opening and navigating the programs.
You just need a basic $300-350 laptop with intel or Ryzen processor

How would the HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2021nr from Microcenter stack up against this? Right now it is 699, but it goes on sale quite frequently for 599. Would it be a major difference for video editing? Not really much of a gamer. Of course I would add to make it 16gb of ram, so if on sale for 600 I guess add 50 bucks on top (650)
