Costco T-Mobile generally gives back tradein value back in visa/master gift card after a month or two. So it is easy for people who want pay upfront rather than waiting for credits over 2 years.

You can still use the same sim but it won't give you 5G service. You need the R15 sim to get 5G. Although the 5G service we have is bad and my family members have it turned off.
I agree with 5g being bad in my area. It's been very annoying.

Thank you for that. sounds like when I get it I'll need to take it to tmobile to get activated then. My work phone is samsung s20 fe 5g phone on Verizon and the 5g is pretty good in my area but no idea about my personal phone on TMobile. Should be interesting.

I'm thinking about getting S9 for Pixel 6 Pro trade-in. Planning to upgrade my wife's voice line. But she doesn't want to part with her Note 20U. Anyone know if the Pixel 6 need to be active with a sim? I'm planning just to use the 2nd Pixel as WiFi only device.
I don't think so I could be wrong. Let me know if you find out more. My wife also doesn't wanna give up her note. But I use her line to trade in the iPhone 6 for $300 credit. Will be using it on my line.

Why not upgrade one line with PlusUp at $15/mo to qualify for the full $900 credit? That extra $450 over 24 months is $18.75/mo, so you'll still get an extra $3.75/mo over 24 months with the Max benefits on that one line, making the full $900 credit with PlusUp worth $540 (instead of $450 with just Magenta).

How do upgrade just one line? I've looked through all the options but can't find anything?

Best to initially activate on line bought on, but you can switch sims literally 2 minutes later

Is the trade in offer only for the 6 pro? Looks like the 6 requires the MAX plan or add a line.
If you log in and process the trade in, the $300/$450 credit will appear when you get to the checkout page.

So, on the Tmobile trade in page there is only an option to trade in the pixel 3s I am currently using but want to trade in a pixel 2 ( that is eligible I believe) . Where do I find an option for other models for trade in? Or swap sims and see if it shows up? Thanks so much
Other eligible phones are listed on the first post. To process it on the T-Mobile website, look for the button that says "trade in another device." It automatically defaults to the current device being used on the phone line

The T-Mobile website is no longer listing this promotion on the Pixel 6, just the Pro.

The 6 has the Magneta deal and an open a new line deal.

Anyone know if/how to replicate the Pro deal on a regular 6?

You can change sim numbers in the app or online. No need to go to a store.

Here's what I did:

I have a "2020 Apple Switch Trade P5", where I got an iPhone 11 Pro for free over bill credits. T-Mobile only allows one EIP per line, so I paid the phone off such that the remainder of the EIP credit goes to account level; via T-Force:
Quote :
Me: Hello! I have a question on EIP credits. Per T-Mobile terms: "If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months)." I want to confirm that the "2020 Apple Switch Trade P5" falls under this condition. For example, I want to confirm for line ending in xxxx, if I pay off the remaining balance of $367.54, I will continue to receive a credit of $29.17 per month for the next 10 months.

T-Force: Hello xxxx, Vanessa here and I will be your T-Force specialist in colorful Colorado! I will assist in taking care of all your T-Mobile needs today. It is important to know how paying off devices will affect your account. I appreciate you reaching out to confirm the details. You are correct, if you pay off the full balance of the device, you will receive the credits towards the monthly bill until the end of the promotion as long as the lines are active on the account. This is a great benefit of T-Mobile! Your calculation is correct on the amount of credit you will receive and the pay off for the devices. You can pay off the equipment online or with a customer service representative. Does that information help and do you have any other questions for me? ^VanessaGaitan
Then, I purchased a Galaxy S9 on eBay for about $100. I got the IMEI number, and confirmed with T-Force rep that if I add Plus Up as an addon to just that line, I will qualify for $900:
Quote :
Me: Hello, got another question: I read that if you add the Plus Up Data option for $15/mo on a line, that line qualifies for the Max trade offer. For example, if I add the Plus Up Data option for $15/mo on the xxxx line, and I trade in a Galaxy S9 towards a Pixel 6 Pro, I qualify for $900 credit over 24 months, for as long as I maintain the $15/mo Plus Up for the entire 24 months. Is this accurate?

T-Force: My name is Kristina, and I will be your #Magentalightningbug to help brighten the day! You read correctly! That is an amazing offer to get a $900 phone for free after the monthly bill credits and lump-sum credit. Your line ending xxxx will see an increase of $15 a month until the term of the phone installment plans have been fulfilled. It will not come off on its own, so if you no longer want the feature on that line after the promo, you will want to reach out so we can take it off. ^KristinaTeaster
With Decluttr offering $463.10 for my iPhone 11 Pro, this upgrade to Pixel 6 Pro will cost:
+$900 (Pixel 6 Pro)
-$900 (Promo)
+$100 (Galaxy S9)
-$463 (iPhone 11 Pro sale price)
+$15*24 (Plus Up)
------------------------------------------------
-$3 (or a wash)

Not bad!

Same here. I'm guessing this deal will still be available after release?
