Per doctor's orders, went home and used Debrox for a few days. There was very little output on the first few applications. On the very last one though, it was like a dam had breached - the amount of wax that flowed out was jaw dropping. I went from SD to HD audio quality.
Saw the doctor a week later for a followup, he flushed my ear again and there was even more - the Debrox had worked so well where we could finally dislodge the remaining quarter-century of wax buildup. This was like upgrading from HD audio to a Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 surround sound system.
I still use this once every couple years just to make sure my ears stay clean.

I've had it for years. Well, since the Gulf War and it sucks but you get used to it. Mine apparently was from loud noise which caused some hearing loss. I use background noise like a fan to help. I've never heard of this happening but that's to say it hasn't happened. Those wax removing scoops work really well but if it's bad, I would see a doctor as they can see what they're doing.
That said, I don't know what a social suction machine is. It sounds exciting, though
I have had earwax removed at the doctor's office before. Nurse took a warm syringe to my ear. I had to sign a waiver saying that I understood that eardrum rupture is possible, though unlikely
I have not done it since but I have used a little syringe kit at home. You don't get much out because I'm unwilling to really force it but the little bit of water (the syringe has a little 3-way attachment that makes the water come out sideways in 3 jets) is enough to open up any clogged ears.
I wanted to kiss that nurse.

j/k I had a similar experience years ago. While using the syringe, very high pain levels until the blockage dislodged and came out. It was instant, 100% pain relief. Was very grateful to the staff.
