You can 'kinda' use each other's network. Both companies now roam on each other's network. Your simcard determines which network you are on. Sprint sim = Sprint network, roam T-Mobile if there is no Sprint signal. Reverse is true for T-Mobile sim. Sprint users can also permanently switch to T-Mobile sim with Sprint roam.
Sprint accounts are still Sprint accounts; you can move from Sprint to T-Mobile account wise, but the process is a huge hassle. It's probably gonna take them a few years at least to migrate 55m Sprint accounts.
As a result of this, Sprint customers cannot take advantage of T-Mobile offers, but in many cases T-Mobile offers are copied more or less and offered as Sprint offers. But the challenge is that not many stores now carry Sprint phones, so it is far more annoying for Sprint users to upgrade.
If they offered the deal to get rid of my CDMA phone, I'd have jumped on it. But noooooo, they want me to change plans.
They gave Note 8 $600 credit and Note 9 only $450. The Note 8 rate is not published, you have to chat with them. They are saying it's not going to be compatible come January and they offer higher $ for trade in.
Forgot to say that I am on a lowest Military plan. $100 for 4 lines.
