ONE. Second. Readings.
Thermapen ONE almost moves at the speed of thought...allowing you to focus exclusively on the quality of your work.

More Accurate
With an improved accuracy spec of ± 0.5°F (± 0.3°C), you'll know your lightning fast Thermapen ONE readings are always accurate, as well.

Brighter Backlight
The automatic backlight is brighter and the light sensor is more sensitive to changes in ambient lighting conditions.

5-Year Warranty
The newly designed rugged, waterproof case features a 5-year warranty against defects.

I bought one to replace a older dying thermapen and am extremely disappointed with it in comparison to the older one.
The metal probe is much much much harder to pull out.
The stupid display keeps flipping around, upside down, sideways, right side up, it's annoying as heck.
There is no lanyard attached or any way to attach a lanyard.
While it reads as fast as old one, it seems to take longer to settle on a final temp.
This is a great example of the old saying, "the enemy of good is better."
Sorry man, those who don't know, don't know.

I thought it was silly to spend more than $15 or $20 on a thermometer too, until I bought one.
I used to do a community fundraiser where I did ~2000 bbq chicken dinners in 3 days. I was constantly sticking birds to monitor their cooking progress and to ensure they were being held to temp. Back then upgrading to a 4s thermo saved me hours of time. If I still did this cook I would pay for 1s in a heartbeat.

That being said, for home users a Lavaworks Javelin would be just fine. Or a Thermoworks Pop.

If the price drops on the Mk iV it would really be considered a best buy as well. I'd love to see ~$50.

Wow, a lot of thermometer aficionados in here. Strangely cool to see. (Quality vs cheap, etc.)

If they offered a ThermaPoP ONE, I think they'd make a fortune.

Bought this Kizen Digital Meat Thermometers for Cooking - Waterproof Instant Read Food Thermometer for Meat, Deep Frying, Baking, Outdoor Cooking, Grilling, & BBQ (Black/White) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073KYT...UTF8&psc=1 , for $12.14.. it's $13.99 now with a coupon, but it's a no brainer with 43K reviews.. I don't think I could justify paying $85 for a meat thermometer, but hey.. it's your money

Bought one for $1.50 from Aliexpress, doesn't do the 1 second thing, maybe takes 2 seconds or so but the readings seem to be accurate.

Same, had a Chinese one for 2 years going strong and maybe 2s?

My Chinese one is like all that have not been calibrated or validated, average 3-10 seconds and accurate to within 5-10 degrees. Good enough is sometimes good enough.

I have a thermoworks smoke with 4 probes and the MK4. Both have had issues and I have had them less then 2 years. Company wouldn't help at all, granted they were past the 1 year warranty.
The smoke port holes are finicky so sometimes the probe acts like it not plugged in. The MK4 is off a few degrees on the ice bath test and the boiling water test.

Not really sure how I feel about this company. Not sure if they are just marketed hype, and people just jump on board….I mean I spent over $250 with them, or are they just the same stuff you can get for 75% cheaper.

Thanks. I looked at their executive pen and pulled the trigger for $35. Ive gone through 2 cheap $17 meat thermometers and they always get moisture in them somehow. Tired of rebuying. Hope this is the last meat thermometer I need for a while

This brand is pretty much universally used by big competition teams that need dependable accurate readings. As such, they probably don't mind spending the extra cash. For your average back yard BBQ dad you can probably get something at a much lower price but to each his own. I have the Smoke Remote Thermometer and its a great product and I got it for a great price. If this Thermapen was a little cheaper I'd have no issue pulling the trigger especially with all the Amazon reviews stating faulty temps on the Thermopro

The reason these are accurate and fast is due to the type of sensor they use for getting readings. The sensor seems to be more costly thus higher price. However, you're mostly paying for the name here. If you look for a thermometer that contains a thermocouple sensor you should be golden. Here's an example, and the one I use and love (I honestly have zero affiliation, just saving you money and time in research) ThermoPro TP19 Waterproof Digital Meat Thermometer for Grilling with Ambidextrous Backlit & Thermocouple Instant Read Thermometer Kitchen Cooking Food Thermometer for Candy Water Oil BBQ Grill Smoker https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R18W...UTF8&psc=1

Takes 2-3 seconds for stable reading. Perfect reading in boiling and ice water. Waterproof. Magnetized back. I like it for way less money.

Its more than that. Made in the UK with skilled labor using reliable, industrial grade components, and calibrated by hand before leaving the factory vs made in China to lowest bidder with really sketch controls.

Like with tools, the quality of Thermapen is worth the penny. I'm on a 12 year old $75 Thermapen, still going strong.

I wore out my 1st Gen Thermapen and so I upgraded to this. For those who don't know, this is a thermocouple, not just a thermometer. It's crazy fast which, by pushing it slowly through the meat, allows you to measure the temperature gradient in meat, not just the average temp inside. It's actually a game changer.

I'm on the 3rd year of constant use with the one in the link. Is fine. Nationality of person assembling is rapidly proving less of a correlation of quality. Either is great, one is much cheaper.

Where it is designed and who oversees manufacturing is much more important than where something is manufactured. I'd rather have a medical device that was designed in the US and manufactured in China, than designed in China, and manufactured in the US.
