ONE. Second. Readings.
Thermapen ONE almost moves at the speed of thought...allowing you to focus exclusively on the quality of your work.
More Accurate
With an improved accuracy spec of ± 0.5°F (± 0.3°C), you'll know your lightning fast Thermapen ONE readings are always accurate, as well.
Brighter Backlight
The automatic backlight is brighter and the light sensor is more sensitive to changes in ambient lighting conditions.
5-Year Warranty
The newly designed rugged, waterproof case features a 5-year warranty against defects.

The metal probe is much much much harder to pull out.
The stupid display keeps flipping around, upside down, sideways, right side up, it's annoying as heck.
There is no lanyard attached or any way to attach a lanyard.
While it reads as fast as old one, it seems to take longer to settle on a final temp.
This is a great example of the old saying, "the enemy of good is better."
I thought it was silly to spend more than $15 or $20 on a thermometer too, until I bought one.
That being said, for home users a Lavaworks Javelin would be just fine. Or a Thermoworks Pop.
If the price drops on the Mk iV it would really be considered a best buy as well. I'd love to see ~$50.

Same, had a Chinese one for 2 years going strong and maybe 2s?
Clearly, you're not their market
The smoke port holes are finicky so sometimes the probe acts like it not plugged in. The MK4 is off a few degrees on the ice bath test and the boiling water test.
Not really sure how I feel about this company. Not sure if they are just marketed hype, and people just jump on board….I mean I spent over $250 with them, or are they just the same stuff you can get for 75% cheaper.

Takes 2-3 seconds for stable reading. Perfect reading in boiling and ice water. Waterproof. Magnetized back. I like it for way less money.
Like with tools, the quality of Thermapen is worth the penny. I'm on a 12 year old $75 Thermapen, still going strong.

I'm on the 3rd year of constant use with the one in the link. Is fine. Nationality of person assembling is rapidly proving less of a correlation of quality. Either is great, one is much cheaper.
