Set up PayPal so you can pay with QR codes. Link your Chase freedom flex as the payment method.

CVS is one of the few places that take PayPal QR codes as payment. It's been recommended to use self checkout, if possible. Once you add the gift card, DO NOT click any payment method on the self checkout terminal. Instead, scan your PayPal QR code like you are buying something. Then it will allow you to checkout and pay with PayPal.

If it does indeed stack with the 2% back at drug stores as the other thread suggests, that's 11% back on up to $1500.

Will it be stackable on first year grocery bonus of 4% i.e. will I be able to receive 9% on gift cards purchased from stores qualified as grocery store if grocery will be my top spend category for this quarter ?

I'm also curious about this. If this works, I can just buy $1500 in giftcards to different places I shop at, and get ~$135(minus any fees) cash back.

My grocery 5% back on first year ends this November. That should still apply, right? Even though the offer is through end of December?

I just got my freedom flex card 3 days ago.
While applying for the card I came across official chase FAQ wherein it was stated for original freedom card holders to replace their card with freedom flex with no credit pull and no cost to you by reaching out to customer service.
You might wanna give them a call.

wow, a little confusing for old folk. what is the best use of this. How to use PayPal to buy gift cards in those categories?
I was confused too. At the Paypal app, touch top far right. (there is square with 3 square dots and one unmarked square dot) You will see "Shows to Pay" and select Flex card as the payment.

Tread carefully with buying large amounts of GCs using your cc. From this thread, it seems that $500 is fine, but I once did $800 and was audited by Chase. Glad I got out of it, but not fun.

I was beginning to think this should be marked YMMV. The "See Deal" and FAQ linked in the original post take me to pages that say absolutely nothing about this deal.

So the bottom line is make sure you have activated your traditional 5% quarterly category for Q4 on your Freedom Flex card,, then spend. Nothing else is required to activate.

I only buy $500 at a time both to prevent problems at the store and with Chase.

If I can figure out how to buy a gift card at CVS with self-checkout using Paypal, all the better.
Others here say it can be done, but I have not tried it myself.
