I think the pro also has a higher TDP 3070 (like 140w instead of 130w), and one more heat pipe for presumably better cooling.

For those comparing this laptop to others with faster processors, etc., keep in mind that a 5800 will run a lot faster than a throttled 5900 in a thin or poorly-cooled laptop.

The RAM in this Walmart laptop is the slow tRFC timings. You'll want to upgrade to new RAM if you want the best gaming performance.

Yes, the RAM and storage are not soldered, and so you can replace them no problem.

You cant, its part of the graphics card, its not removeable memory. Its soldered on to the GPU board.

Do you have suggestions for what to set as the core lock? I think I saw 1100 mentioned before. Right now I just have it adjusted -200. As for the ram, right now it's set at 900 which looks to be a lot more than other people have been able to push it so I'm questioning it's stability. Been running for 3 hours at this point but I want to see days.

Even with the micron vram these are still decent mining rigs. Just a shame there is suck a performance difference between them.

Do not use afterburner. Use trex miner and edit your bat file for the settings - here is a video on how to do that. Start with 1100 on the core and 1000 on the vram. Adjust the vram if it crashes. This will also make your mining rigs much more stable :

I think my order is making headway but i dont trust walmart chat agents as far as i can throw them and at 5'3 its not far at all Smilie Anyways, has anyone had a shipping number with fed ex show up at 1:10 AM saying shipped from Del City, OK. Mines says delayed in the area and im thinking thats because it was supposed to be here today. but right under that and the click is says Just shipped. Anyone had this happen, and still receive it? Also no fedex update yet

Also, for a laptop just use the core lock and the mem lock. You will not be able to use the fan or power limit settings. By setting the core lock you are also indirectly setting the power limits.

You cannot change the vram but the system ram is worth upgrading for gaming - it does not make any difference for mining. Unfortunately, most laptops are using single rank ram these days as it is cheaper to make. Just make sure you are upgrading to dual rank ram though.
