Amazon.com has Doctor Who: The Complete David Tennant Collection (Blu-ray) on sale for $17.92. Shipping is free w/ Prime or on $25+ orders.

Thanks to Community Member fighting_blindly for finding this deal.

Product Info:
  • Doctor Who: The Complete David Tennant Collection features some surprisingly robust sounding DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mixes, with consistent engagement of the surround channels as well as some floorboard rattling LFE, at least on occasion. There are occasional goofy but nonetheless enjoyable sound effects, including some swirling panning effects as the TARDIS makes its way to new locations (both spatially and temporally). Some urban or at least relatively crowded sequences also provide good opportunities for well placed ambient environmental effects. Dialogue is rendered cleanly and clearly throughout this problem free track.

Doctor Who is not really something you "watch from the start". It started in the 60s and there's lots of missing episodes. David Tennant is considered one of the best actors who've played the Doctor so this is a great start into the series.

Got this back in Feb. 2020 for $20. I started with the first series with Eccleston by accident and was hooked until Capaldi. And then series went down from there for me. Tried older versions of Doctor Who but couldn't get into them. Oh, haven't had any interest in watching the female Doctor so haven't watched anything since.

Jodi Whittaker did an excellent job but was plagued with awful scripts, I felt similarly about Capaldi. I think castings of the doctors has been excellent but writing has been letting the series down. Tennant, eccelson, and even Smith had a ton more to work with. Jodi also had an army of companions that diluted her role to an ensemble player.

Doctor Who has always been political so that doesn't bother me, its just the heavy handed lesson of the week monologs that Jodi was forced to deliver every episode that felt offensive because of the lazy writing.

Tennant was excellent, sure there are some goofy, awful episodes but thats part of the Doctor Who charm.

Blink is an absolutely brilliant episode, id put up against almost any scifi show in existence. That episode alone is worth the price of admission.

based on the revisions i believe the link may have been inadvertently removed from the actual op, but it was still in a field that works in the redesigned version of the site. in any case i've added it back.

thanks for posting, op, and happy slickdealing, all! Peace

Thanks, I must have clicked and got it mid revision. I've never seen a Doctor Who. Could I buy and watch this, or would I be missing too much by not watching from the start?

2005 - doctor who is where to start. I tried watching the newest doctor who with a few episodes, but it wasn't the same...I'm not sure Who is taking over as the next Who...

I was iffy about Capaldi, but he grew on me. After that, it went downhill...even with many hyping JW up to be the best of all of the Dr. WHO, i stopped following along those seasons. Maybe someday it gets better again..

Yeah, on Amazon. But from what I saw the rest of the collections don't have the same value as far as number of episodes

They don't but it's rare for them to be below 40 let alone some of them msrp and start at 70-80.
I managed to pick up 1 and 8 since I was missing those two. 10 is sold out Frown

scored this for $10 at bestbuy around 2 years back, it'll probably never be that cheap again (damn you 2021 inflation)

pretty much the best doctor collection from the new series. great set to start with if you've been considering giving the show a chance.

Tennant is the best Doctor of the new series with many of the best stories. I would still recommend starting with Eccleston, but you can't go wrong with Tennant.
