Seriously, people abuse costco policy like this is why we cant never have nice thing. You return a 4 years old electronics, how desperate are you?. Stay out of my beloved costco please.
Come on. You returned what you bought 4 years ago and are proud of it?
Go with the Asus. I've tried both and got much better coverage from the Zen.

On another note, apparently Netgear makes you pay for tech support after 90 days to actually use your warranty. That was a no go for me.

I am returning mine. Completed the setup steps, then the app can't find the Orbi. The app/phone is connected to it via WIFI, but the app can't find the Orbi to finish the setup. No internet. I reset it and start over, the same same.

I had the same issue. I found that it has to connect with the cable provided, problem solved

I need stability and coverage. I have a 200/10 connection so yes this is overkill speed wise, but there aren't many good previous gen triband mesh options that can be found for significantly cheaper new than this. If I'm going to spend $250-300, I might as well just spend $350 and get a future proof one instead.

The Deco M9+ pack that was $160 was a consideration, but I'm not a fan of TP-Link's app based management or cloud account privacy concerns. Same goes for Eero and Google/Nest.

Completely agree I have 400, bought this after struggling with Linksys 4200, which is very spotty

Also you can attach hard disk and cameras to build your in home network which needs to be faster. It's not only about what is uploaded to and downloaded from internet.

First of all I bought this from Costco store and was shocked to see the packaging, essentially there is no packaging. 3 routers in a plastic bag and Costco just put them in a broken box I took to checkout. Didn't come packaged! Shocking! But I guess Costco is trying really hard to bring price down?

Second of all I am looking for suggestion on what external hdd can I connect to these to have remote disk accessible from all machines in home. Thanks Much!

You might have received a open box return. Retun to costco and get a proper one.

We just bought these. It is much better for us than the google mesh. It improved our speed and takes advantage of the 1GB speeds we pay for!
That's great! Could you please let me know what wireless speeds you're getting?

I've used ORB's they are bad. Works very great initially, but after a year device doesn't work. The wi-fi speeds degrade for no reason. You wired speeds would give you max speeds, but wireless drops to 25%. There are a lot of discussion on reddit and other forums with no solution.

Moved to a EERO PRO 3. Very happy with it. My Wifi-speeds have improved a lot and get reliable speeds all the time.
Orbi's degrade over time, I am not sure wh a router would degrade is it the heat?.

I can also vouch for the Asus XT8... I tried nearly all of them and they all had disconnection issues in wireless backhaul mode. I've had the Asus XT8 for 6 Months and I can't even remember having any issues while working daily from my 3200 sqft home and 3 children in online schools. Plus I only paid $280 for it, as it was an open box at Microcenter!

Theres a price drop on the 6E version now $499 (previously $530):

ASUS ZenWiFi Whole-Home Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 6E System (ET8 2PK), Coverage up to 5,500 sq.ft & 6+Rooms, 6600Mbps, New 6GHz Band, AiMesh,Instant Guard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0979Q7...2R1F?psc=1

I bought this and they are not that great. Certainly not worth $350. This may be ok around ~$200. Still biased whether to return or not. In last five days I have seen connection drops, My iPhone won't connect to nearest satellite when I move. Instead it stuck to one it connected first (location permission is on). Setup was not easy. There's one year free security armor won't connect.

One positive is speed is great. I have 500mbps connection and I get that speed on Wi-Fi 6 enabled devices.

Trying to like it.

Ask yourself how is it possible for a router to wear out is it like a car that you break that the break pads.just doesn't make sense.

Excellent deal for a fast and reliable mesh

How is this compared to Google nest router? Which is more reliable and consistent?

I prefer this one. Both are reliable, Orbi is a little faster (though only really matters if you are on gigabit internet), and Orbi has a little bit (but not much) customizability.

I bought the Orbi wifi6 set from Costco.com last week; it was delivered during the week. I had a difficult time trying to set it up using the app. I wasted hours trying to get it to work using the app. Finally, I found my ethernet adapter for my laptop and plugged directly into it. Had it set up in 5-10 minutes without any issues.

TLDR: If you have trouble setting up with the app, try hooking a PC directly to the router. 192.168.1.1

Same issues. I'm not dealing with this BS. I see a few fixes, but it pissed me off. Back to Costco these go.

I gave it another shot, I did set it up and run it for 2 days, good speed, a few drop connections, really long reboot time. I can't deal with the drop connection, it is going back. I already got a Asus ZenFi XT8 (2 pack) from Bestbuy with the 15% router recycle coupon, $360 before tax. About the same price as this unit, but it is a 2 pack, not a 3 pack like this Orbi. A 2 pack is enough for me, so far the Asus is working well, easy setup and fast reboot, no issue so far.

I have an RBR50 with 1 satellite. Could I reuse those with this system for add'l coverage? Wonder if they can be mix/matched?

Just set up mine. Connected the router and one satellite with no problem. Had to put the kids to sleep and then tried to set up satellite two but for some reason it is not finding satellite two. Going to bed now...
