The store has terrible review online…any experience?
Shoes.com and onlineshoes.com was a company in Canada based out of Vancouver and had an office in Toronto. The Toronto office was actually an office in the front and a large storage unit in the back where they would pick/pack/ship the items. I walked into the office for the first time and I shit you not, it was like walking into your buddy's basement or a frat house. Around 6-7 people under the age of 25 trying to figure out how to run this operation, except it looked like a frat house and was nothing but a wild party going on. They were week behind in shipping orders, and had ONE person in the back kinda sorta try to get the orders picked so they could ship them later, if he felt like it that day. It was a complete shit show. I mean, have a great time at work but this was just....interesting.
They had an operation in Groveport, OH (suburb of Columbus), big warehouse full of shoes to sell. Complete party atmosphere, liquor all over the place (literally), etc etc. My last company took over the US operations, but the hole was so deep that about 6 months later, they just completely had to stop and file bankruptcy on a Friday afternoon. I'm talking trailers full of packages to be picked up and shipped, but because Fedex hadnt been paid, they hadnt picked up a trailer in about a week. Couple of thousand of people paid for shoes that never got shipped and they had to do chargebacks.
Lot more to the story, but if I recall correctly Walmart bought the Shoes.com and Onlineshoes.com domain and now operates it. This all happened around 4 years ago. Lot more to the story but there you go.
Regardless......for $20, i placed an order. Worst case I will have to call Amex at some point but i am not worried about it.
I want to climb a mountain, not so I can get climb to the top
Cause I wanna hang out at base camp
That seems farking fun as hell
You sleep in a colorful tent
You grow a bread, you drink hot chocolate, you walk around
"Hey, you going to the top?"
"Soon"
