Yep, touchscreen along with a stylus is a must. Unforunately, chromebook doesn't seem to run too friendly with a lot of apps that I will be using.

Awesome, now debating if I should wait till black friday or pull the trigger. Most likely buy now and think later. laugh out loud
Is the touch because you want to use a stylus?

External Wacom-type things work very well.

If not, I suggest looking for a "dell inspiron chromebook 14 7486" - Why?? It has WACOM EMR Battery-less Stylus built-in. On ebay, people are giving them away imo. It has one of the best screens 100%+ sRGB, and VERY color accurate I've seen on any reasonably priced device. I have 5 of these to do what I need to do in the remote world. They are all 8th gen i3 processors. I bought them all on ebay for about $200 each for an all-aluminum build.

Bummer.

For writing I just use Squid (with the low-latency ink disabled). The premium version lets you import and write on pdfs which is all I need.

Check the various links for full specs. Click the link for platform specs to see what you can and can't do in terms of possible changes.

Also, Aluminum lid, PC+ABS bottom.

65W usb-c charging (i.e. freedom!)

Wireless-AC - why?? Easy enough to change though.

Battery[1]
Integrated Li-Polymer 45Wh battery, supports Rapid Charge Pro (charge up to 50% in 30min)
Integrated Li-Polymer 60Wh battery, supports Rapid Charge (charge up to 80% in 1hr)
Max Battery Life[2]
MobileMark® 2018: 10 hr (60Wh)
MobileMark 2018: 7.5 hr (45Wh)

For the people wondering about the screen, there is this available down the road if you can find/acquire one at a good price:
15.6" FHD (1920x1080) Non-touch IPS 300nits Anti-glare 16:9 1200:1 100% sRGB 170°

WOW! For those wondering which ONE?!
The 14" is full Auminum?

That 100% sRGB screen models are not available in North America, Filter by Region or Country in the Model List and check

Personally I am too spoiled by the screen of the Macbook Pro and my desktop monitors to accept a screen at 45% NTSC color accuracy. Looked at a laptop in store at Best Buy, and the saturation is just bad. Even those $80 monitors sold by Dell has great color accuracy. It is sad that this mid-level $700 laptop with decent specs otherwise has a very ordinary display.

Yes and much more than that. It is the best deal on a laptop I have seen in a long long time assuming you don't need dedicated graphics for gaming, medium to heavy video editing or 3D design. It is slightly more expensive than say a generic i5/Ryzen 5 from any manufacturer's lower-end line at $450-500, maybe $400 on a good Black Friday deal IF you can get it, but's because this is not Lenovo's lowest-end laptop, plus you get touch screen and a 512 hard drive, the usual is 256. This laptop will last 5 years no question, which to me is a reason to spend a little more for a higher quality product that you will ultimately use everyday, especially if you take care of your stuff. Another plus for this laptop which is rare (but becoming more common) is not one but two USB-C type C connectors and both can support a second/third monitor or charge your laptop AND a total of 4 USB ports (vs 3 which is becoming the norm...yuck). This alone is why I am considering buying this but don't need one atm.

Don't forget it can be had for even cheaper if you get 10% CB from R10, get 5% CB from using Paypal through Chase Freedom and can get the education discount through I.D Me for an additional 5%. Some guy mentioned a $20 reward applied automatically through Lenovo itself but I don't know how to get that one.

Actually is $25 in reward. Is added automically when checkout. I don't think paypal offer need to be activiated, i never activated anything. Probably the perk for having chase freedom since it did mention for certrain period only.

Thank you, feel better about the purchase now. I wanted to ask if you or anyone know if this laptop would able to use with stylus like wacom bamboo pen. I believe the last ideapad 3 i bought only has touchscreen but doesn't work with the stylus. A bit traumatized. LMAO

Edit: when I go into adding the accessories section, the stylus tab is blank. Would appreciate if anyone can give some pointers.

We purchased 20 of these laptops for the small private school where I work. The screens are fine - they won't blow you away, but also decent viewing angles and nice matte finish. Touchscreen works great. Speed is more than most would need (I haven't seen any of our teachers push it.) Build quality is mid-high. Not a unibody construction, but feels sturdy enough. Plenty of ports. Keyboard is OK - keys have short travel, but the layout it nice. Fingerprint reader is solid meh. I wouldn't get it if you want to never have to enter your password as it seems to be about 50/50 whether it would actually read my finder or not (other teachers have similar issues). Touchpad is good for a Windows PC.

For the specs and build quality, I don't think you can beat this price. I've sent it to my mother-in-law as a recommendation.
