Buy a phone, say the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra at $1000 or more at another carrier, wait for 90 days, and switch to TMobile, get $1000 within 15 days.
Cost would be 3 months bill at the other carrier (say $120), 30 days of TMobile essentials (say $30 each line if doing 3 or 4 lines), total $160.
Sounds like a great deal. Am I missing anything? Risk is that the deal disappears in 90 days.

And then submit this EIP reimbursement of device paid off ( AT&T ) to get virtual card from T-mobile ?
The REALLY nice thing is that if you're coming with a new phone from Verizon then T-Mobile will give you the digital prepaid cards BEFORE you actually pay Verizon off (after the 90 days have passed and you submit your rebates)…

So you don't have to possibly max out a credit card to pay off your phone contracts…you can just use the digital prepaid cards to pay off the phone contracts at Verizon!

As for T-Mobile thinking that you're a sprint customer instead of an ATT customer…Do you have an old sprint (or one of their cheaper brands) number being used for this ATT account?
I went to ATT from sprint so I just changed my phone number with ATT (it's even a BRAND NEW phone number!!) since T-Mobile had previously recognized my old sprint phone number…
Not sure it'll resolve everything, but fingers crossed!
