I have a hard time seeing the Mini 3 coming out this year. The Mini 2 is already very capable- 4k, occusync 2, raw photos.... not sure what they could really add without cannibalizing the Air 2S. Maybe Occusync 3 and slightly better battery life? I just don't see it. Next year at the earliest.

So to recap here:

The price for the Mini 2 here is probably the lowest on SD for the Fly More Combo

It is far superior to the Mini 1, due its better lens, stability and occusync
Neither of these drones (or the Air series) are Litchi compatible.

The speculation of a Mini 3 are unfounded. Earlier this month, DJI preluded their releases with a preview of each:

Ronin 4D (October 20)
Action 2 (releasing tomorrow)
Mavic 3 (November 5th)

If there is another drone to be released, many on forums and UAV sites point to either another Air or (my bet is on) a new DJI FPV

In my opinion, this is a great "throwaway" drone. Meaning, it is a very capable drone as of now, but the Air 2 and Air 2S offer better specs. This is important, as you'll probably see the Air series drop to $450-$500 by the Holidays since the Mavic 3 will get all the attention and peoples money.

If you're just starting out with a drone, this is not one that I suggest. Although it is cheaper, the Air 2 and 2S have much needed obstacle avoidance sensors that'll help keep your investment intact. With that said, with whatever drone you buy, get insurance. Either through DJI or through an insurance provider (ie - State Farm).

Any source on this? I see nothing on DroneDJ about a Mini 3. The upcoming announcements from DJI are about the Mavic 3 (which is a completely different tier of drone) as well as the Action 2 (which is a different product category).

Seems to be from DJI themselves for 2 years, one can always add the DJI insurance on top of this as well for $49

I think you're mistaking the expected November release of the DJI Mavic 3 not the Mini 3: https://dronedj.com/2021/10/12/dj...-action-2/

I've been following the "rumors" on the Mini 3 and initially, it was slated for November. But upon further review, I think those reports are false and the Mini 3 may not come out this CY.

Consensus amnogst the DJI prognosticators on YT is that there will be NO DJI Mini 3 released in 2021.

Isn't that just a software update for the app? Litchi will do follow me on the mavic mini series.

Not supported on the Mini 2 as there is no SDK (yet).

These things could fly for hours with a thorium mini-reactor core.
But we're not allowed to have them because "terrorism."

DroneLink is also not compatible yet with the Mini 2.

I am looking for a sub-$200 Mini 1 Fly More deal on Black Friday.

Not challenging most of what you said. The fly more statement is incorrect. This is not the fly more bundle.
