Noob question...when do you used an impact driver vs drill driver? I always just use the drill for everything (have both) but maybe that's not the best idea. Thanks!

Drills are most commonly used to drill holes and to drive in screws and other small fasteners. ... Impact drivers are more commonly used to drive in a large quantity of fasteners, longer screws and lag bolts. Long screws and, with the use of an adapter, lag bolts can be driven in more easily by an impact driver.

I got my Max XR + 1.5A battery for the same price around Thanksgiving/Christmas. I'm not sure whether this makes sense over that for most. For applications in tight spaces, those 90 degree extenders can fit into far more places.

The short is this:
Drilling a hole? Use the drill driver.
Screws, nuts and bolts? Impact driver.

A drill focuses on consistent speed to drill a hole, whereas an impact driver focuses torque.

While for DIYers I'd suggest having both, if you just want one of them for around the house or wanted to know which to get first, I'd get an impact driver. Drilling through drywall and wood you will have no problems with and the hex based drillbits are fine with an impact driver for those applications.

I do plenty of my own projects and I have no regrets about having my two Dewalt impact drivers laying around. If I'm doing light (again with wood, drywall etc) drilling then most of the time I'll grab two impact drivers; it's generally faster because you don't have to deal with a chuck.

I'm a guy that just dorks around at home. I use these primarily for pocket screws. Amazing for that.

Man, I can't seem to find coupons for home depot like I used to. Any other deals that can stack on this like a cash back site or something?
