Yeah, you can buy a pack of socket adapters for maybe 10$. But don't expect the torque of a car shop impact. This thing will drive lumber locks, but large car bolts and lugs might not be as snug as you like

thank you for your reply. I would most likely use it to tighten bolts for my home gym power rack with 1" hardware. Would you recommend the impact wrench instead? I think it comes with standard 1/2' socket

Home gym is probably fine, but be careful not to cross threat, it is strong enough to do that

I'm baffled by all the thumbs down. This deal matches the couple times this hack/combo offer came up. This atomic driver is really nice and small if size is your #1 priority for a decent impact driver. Personally, my 18v Milwaukee Surge my daily driver, but I've been really tempted on jumping on this as a smaller alternative for the hack. Edit: I suspect this price hasn't changed since it was last posted and this deal is just a continuation of what has been available. That said, if you're in the market for an impact driver, this is about as good as it gets for $75 or less.

For reference I ordered the Atomic impact with two 1.5ah batteries from Amazon a week ago for $99. I did get lucky as it went out of stock later that night and showed back up the next day for $140. But they have $99 kits pretty frequent.

After plenty of research, I jumped on this deal. This is the dcf850 which actually has better specs than the dcf887 xr version which I've used daily for years for drilling/driving and even as a hammer in a pinch. Hopefully it lasts as long as my 887 did, that being said, I ordered the impact ship to home and the starter kit as pickup in store. I didn't even have to cancel the pickup one, they did it for me, guess they ran out? Anyway 79$ after it was all said and done, that's HALF the price of any other top tier 1/4 impact out there! What a deal!! FYI ordered this on 4/25

Use an impact driver or power ratchet to get the bolts almost tight, then hand tighten the bolts. Impacts were never designed to torque fasteners; doing so just results in overtightened fasteners that bend things and are difficult to take off.
