As other's have side this was a niche tool designed by Milwaukee to handle more delicate screw driving operations. You don't want your electric screwdriver to be particularly powerful. You want it to be responsive and have a good clutch so you can control it for more precise/delicate driving of screws.

Milwaukee made three electric M12 1/4" hex screwdrivers:

2401-20: this deal; single speed; first screwdriver model released; lightest model; 175lbs of torque; least powerful screwdriver used for very precise work. Many complained that this screwdriver provided too little torque; this model goes on sale a lot

2402-20: 2-speed gearbox brushless (fuel version); heaviest model; 325lbs of torque which many indicated was "too much tool" to be used as a screwdriver

2406-20: 2-speed gearbox; 275lbs of torque; last model released; this model rarely goes on sale; is considered a good hybrid between the precision of 2401 and the power of 2402. From what I've read most consider this the preferred M12 screwdriver to get.

If you have the need for lighter torque precision screw driving operations it's a pretty good tool for what it does and the fact that it comes with two M12 batteries and a charger makes this a pretty good deal.

My favorite tool for precise screw driving jobs is the Worx WX240L
https://www.amazon.com/WORX-WX240...B08FDBVDD8

It's got pretty good torque strength for a 4V rechargable screwdriver. Other pluses are small form factor, uses USB-C for recharging, has torque control (three different settings: level 1 22 inch-lb (2.5 Nm); level 2 37 inch-lb (4.2 Nm); level 3 44 inch-lb (5.0 Nm)), forward and reverse controls, battery level LD, a 2 LED headlight (which could be brighter IMHO), magnetic bit holder and comes is a small carrying case with bits (bit number is dependant on the kit you purchase). Finally you can also use this like a classic screwdriver if you require more manual torque to finish the job.

There are two kits for the Worx screwdriver:
- WX240L (with 12 bits)
- WX240 (with 24 bits)

The WX240 has double the bits vs. the WX240L and is harder to find in the States but you can purchase it from Bangood for $40: https://www.google.com/shopping/p...O4Q9pwGCA0

Sorry to thread highjack but its a great little screwdriver that has many uses and since it has a built in rechargeable battery (18650) you don't need to worry about embracing a tool battery system to use it.

Here's a good vid review of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xai0bR4ujTM

Why do you say that? It has "unrivaled fastening control while 15+1 clutch settings to prevent over-tightening of fasteners. "
Set the clutch right and no worries.

I'm a big fan of this, it's great for things like assembling Ikea furniture. Don't need extra rpms for that

It's a great driver, but professionals will probably prefer the fuel version for the increased rpm's.

While I own & like this tool. I feel that this tool is too powerful for Ikea furniture. Need a cheap 4 volt screwdriver for partical board projects.

Definitely don't agree with this. It has a clutch, meaning you can make it so that it wouldn't strip off a plastic scret if you put it at level 1. Assembling furniture or anything that doesn't need too much torque. Basically if you're putting in a deck screw into a 2x4 you can use this but I wouldn't. That's what your M18 fuel driver is for. This is for everything else....

As long as you adjust the clutch torque appropriately, you'll be fine.

This is a nice tool, but I returned it and opted for the Bosch 12-volt line because they feel more comfortable in my hand. I'd recommend giving each a feel.

I have one and it works great for most home projects. If you're doing large projects or using it daily, you'll likely want something better.

I got this kit when it popped up at $49 to replace my aging skill ixo 6v and because it was perfect price point to get into m12. I have a Dewalt dcd790 and Milwaukee
2804-20 for bigger jobs. It's much heavier than the ixo and it really does everything I've thrown at it, but I do wish it was a little smaller to get into smaller spaces

I bought this this past weekend and used the 5 dollar coupon for sharing email with them.

It's much more powerful than some folks here are making it out to be. It can easily throw in deck screws, and the clutch does allow it to do something basic like ikea assembly.

That said, none (I mean NONE) of my 1/4 hex bits lock into place correctly - including the Milwaukee brand ones. There is so much slop with the chuck, it's very very annoying and probably I have to take it back.

EDIT> I see a downvote. You can go read the Amazon reviews for other people reporting the exact same thing I am (with a video) - this tool does not hold bits securely. It's not a pro grade tool by any means, if you are cool with your hits moving in and out by 1/4-1/2 inch randomly, go for it.

This is an excellent tool. Probably gets more use then any of of my other power tools for typical home use. It's excellent for light and medium use but for heavy use, you can use it in a pinch if you need too but you should really stick to the larger drills for that type of work. You won't regret this purchase especially at this price.

A 5.0mAh battery is a bit overkill for this type of tool. This driver has it's place in your toolbox due to it's weight and compact form factor vs. the M12 drill. Putting a 5.0Ah battery on this would defeat its purpose. The compact (CP) 3.0Ah run $100 a pop so you shouldn't expect to get two of that sized battery with a driver and a charger for $70.

I have had this, I am sure an older model, for a years now and love it. Excellent for what it is. Only wish my two batteries still held a charge, they only lasted 2 years or so, now don't hold much.
