Why do people expect a free upgrade? If as a developer it takes more time to create a ps5/Xbox x version why would I give that away? I think for the first year they do it because it's a great way to get people into the new systems but we shouldn't expect free upgrades forever.

It's not the same product. It's a $60 game and $70 game msrp. Different graphic enhancements for the new systems that took development to produce.
You're correct. People can argue over pricing maybe… but it took additional development.
Tell that to the people who have bought Skyrim multiple times.
