Free on mobile with Netflix, if you want to try it out before you get it on switch (console experience is much better than mobile)

Does anyone know if you can play co-op with random people online? This type of game is always more fun with a buddy instead of solo

Yes, you can. But in my experience playing with friends online, the game is a little buggy. We've been randomly disconnected at times, they've leveled up faster than me despite my routinely having the most points, etc.

Generally--and this comes from a true lifelong TMNT fan--I think this game is OK but way overrated. It's quite short, and really the developers just crammed as many characters into it as possible for the sake of saying they did. There's really no rhyme or reason to who the bosses are or where they appear. It's worth playing, and it's fairly easy to pick up on, so in that sense $17 isn't bad for it. But when it came out there was all sorts of game of the year talk, and frankly I just don't see it. It's a fine game but certain not otherworldly.

This game is worth the money but it seems once again Nintendo is charging more for games then others.

I agree with your second statement. That said, I borrowed this game from the library to play with my kids and they absolutely LOVED it. Problem is, we beat it in like 3 hours tops? We had to return it not long after beating it (screen time limits), but I wonder if we buy it, they just won't play it again. $16 is pretty affordable for a good game, but it is still $16...

Also totally agree. I really wanted this to scratch my Turtles in Time itch -- which to this day I can go back and play and have a blast -- but this just doesn't hit it. It's not a nostalgia thing either. It just isn't that fun of a game imho.

As far as I know, Nintendo doesn't charge publishers a bigger cut than Sony or Microsoft would for digital games. The cartridges cost more to make, but that doesn't affect digital.

Most Switch software that is sold is published by Nintendo. Nintendo does minimal discounting, which creates an expectation for customers that they'll pay $50-70 for a Switch game. I think third-party publishers piggyback on this and charge 2X-3X what they would get on other platforms for their old ported game. And judging by the posts I see on SD, it seems to work. People think paying $30-40 for a Switch collection of games they could get for $5-10 on PC is a good deal.
