Some real military pilot jackets have the orange lining for high-visibilty in a rescue situation. When the search-and-rescue team is near, you wear the orange side out so they can spot you easily.

you get what you pay for. i got this same bomber jacket from woot for $29
very cheap jacket. i wash the jacket as soon as i got it. .with the first wash. the orange lining inside the jacket came off.
the jacket was wash on delicate light detergent. only jacket. nothing else in the washer.

It's just the style. WW2 bomber planes flew high up, so a warm jacket became part of the standard uniform. A bomber jacket is just a military-style jacket with an added lining inside for warmth, as opposed to say a windbreaker that has no lining.
