Dual band for mesh means a channel will be utilized for the units to connect to form your network and will take up space for devices.

There are better options out there for slightly more money, especially if you find the right deal at the right time. Costco has had some great deals for TP-Link and Asus mesh systems this year, so if you're not in a rush, you could always wait. I saw the costco deals a few months after I bought this system, but I've been happy with what I have and I'm too lazy to pull the trigger/set up a new system. I've been tempted a few times, but I'll likely rock this until it starts giving me problems. Once it starts acting up, I will likely upgrade, but for what I paid, it's been worth it to have had such a hassle-free experience for almost a year
I should state that I'm mostly a novice when it comes to this stuff. I've done research and have read enough to at least understand what people say in these threads, but I'm not messing with the settings or security too much. My household is also pretty light in terms of devices. Three phones, two laptops, 5 streaming TV's but only really 2-3 on at a time, PS5/Nintendo Switch, and that's it really.
im not saying you shouldnt spend $200 or more on a fancier, or more capable mesh system... but i am saying that you should realize that not everyone needs wifi 6 or ethernet ports at the satellites, or wired backhaul, etc.
the satellites for this are cheap to add on as well. 25-35 bucks.
