I'm sure a deal on the ratcheting version will come at some point. Even with COVID.
I got the ratcheting set from HD just about 10 months ago for $140.

Make sure you are okay with the "teeth" inside the open ends of these wrenches. I think it's a stupid design and I know many others agree. YMMV

Why is it stupid to have serrations on the open side? I've used the open end and it feels much more secure over a standard design.

It's not necessary in most cases for the serrations. It makes it more difficult to get the wrenches on and off. And it can damage hardware if you have to use a lot of torque to loosen them.

The serrations aren't that serious. laugh out loud

I got these a couple years ago at a similar price point.
Very nice wrenches with a high quality fit and finish, the beams look goofy but feel REALLY nice in your hand as you use them. Chrome is really nice, markings are stamped deep and painted. Overall they just did a really nice job making a wrench that at least feel like or gives the illusion of a higher end wrench, making you feel like you got something for that extra money over Tekton or whatever. I didnt get that same feeling when using my friends HF Icons for instance.

If you look at all the pics, when you buy both SAE and Metric the packaging fits together as a drawer organizer.
Like an actual, usable drawer organizer that wastes little space and is clearly marked, sized to fit standard tool chest drawers.
Its nice thicker plastic, probably the only "drawer organizer" that has come with a tool set that ive ever kept. Usually they waste so much space or are so thin and flimsy you dont want them in your toolbox.

As for the serrated open end, I wasnt thrilled with the wrenches having them at first.
Under normal nut engagement, the serrations are nowhere near the nuts corners. Only under heavy load at which point you start to slip off the corners of the nut (aka you are rounding it off) will the serrations catch and cut into the bolt.
Yes you are chewing up the nut, but once you get to that point you would have slipped and rounded it without the serrations anyways.
Its the same idea as the Powerbuilt Zeon or the MAC Precision Torque sockets which have serrations, which are sold explicitly as "rounded nut removers", you slip the rounded nut corners into the serrations and it locks in.

Not a great selling point for me personally, and id prefer these wrenches without it. But in everyday use on clean fasteners its not really been a problem for me. For people who routinely deal with trashed fasteners, it might actually be a nice thing.

Were they worth the money? I'm looking to buy a good wrench set soon and I keep waffleling back-and-forth between a regular box end and ratcheting.

Definitely. Absolutely.

Also, the quality of these Milwaukee versus Craftsman, Huskey, off brands from Amazon, etc are night and day.
The ratcheting mechanism feels more solid.
