Open an incognito (private browsing) window and go through the entire checkout process again, but use a different credit card. It won't work if you simply try to switch cards.

If your Chase card isn't accepted, call the number on the back of your card and the recordings will prompt you to do a few things and then the hold will be removed. I didn't even need to speak to anyone...easy as pie.

You can also add these Visa cards manually to your Walmart Wallet and use with Walmart Pay at the registers.

These cards cannot be added to Google Pay or Samsung Pay. Virtual Visa most likely cannot be used in person or used with NFC in stores. To work around this, buy the store's gift card on their website and use that in store.

If I'm reading their terms correctly, it's a $5.95 fee for cards up to $250. So if you max this out with 3 virtual $250 cards it comes out to a ~7.6% discount. Should probably note the fees in the OP. They're not unexpected for a VISA debit card, but good to note.
My power company takes credit card for payments. billls are outrageous and can make advance payments.

Saved 7.6% (code), 1% cb site, 2% credit card = @ 10.4% savings.

Not a bad way to save on your utility bills for 10 min of work. You're going to have to pay them anyways!

From the sale a couple of months ago, I used several of my visa giftcards to leave a credit balance on my T-Mobile account.

This time around, T-Mobile isn't taking any of these giftcards. Keeps rejecting my payments...

I haven't tried Tmobile, but sometimes you need to register the card under your name and address for merchants to accept them.

Anyone has issue with the cards purchased recently? Today tried to buy some costco cash card. At first I received order confirmation and then an email saying the order was cancelled due to the reasons:
Credit Card or Payment information
Billing and/or Shipping information

Called the number 877-944-3822 trying to check the balance. At first I was told the "card was not activated", and then it processed the activation. After the activation it says the balance is zero. I checked the transaction details and there was a charge of $250 by costco today. So it seems costco successfully charged the card but how come the card was not activated the first place and the costco order was cancelled.
I checked another card and it was also not activated but the balance was good after activation.
Now the questions is, would the card got charged be refunded?

update: the balance was restored. However, I tried to placed another order with another virtual visa gc and the order got cancelled again. Maybe costco has banned cash card purchase with virtual visa now? Anyone else tried recently?

Since Costco cancelled the order, the $250 should probably go back on your card within 2-3 business days. What you are probably seeing is a pending authorization that will ultimately disappear since the order was cancelled.

I noticed the offer online shows 'available In Store'. I guess it is setup mistake by Citi that causes the issue to not trigger the offer after purchase. Is there anything we can do?

There's always something you CAN do. The question that needs to be asked is, will it be worth it or will you WIN? That's another story.

For example, you could continue escalating via chat/calls/social media/etc until someone directly acknowledges the deal and whether or not it's valid.....

You could technically sue. Is it worth it? Honestly not sure, since that's a lot of time and money and you'd really be burning a big bridge with Citi. You could be blacklisted forever but "win"

I did the math, it's like an extra $10? $15? I honestly wasn't factoring in that when I purchased it, so this isn't a "loss" - but more of a "nice to have" if it went through.


Final thought: The wording is so contradictory, and there's so many arbitration nonsense with using their "services"? It's an almost zero chance of winning. Maybe if a lawyer does it pro bono, but.... highly unlikely.

I know for sure I won't look at any % back deals though, since Citi hasn't proven to be trustworthy with their offers. Only anything that I'm willing to "take a loss on" or things I would've purchased without the deal.

costco is no more taking these cards for costco cash card,few months back it was successful for me but now during this deal, no i got the same error but after verifying costco is no more accepting these cards.
after two days my money got refunded back to my visa card
