If you asked a beer snob, they would say no, but it is light, crisp and heavy on the malt. Obviously it is best drank on tab, but I have had this beer when it is "expired" and it was still good. A great beer for this time of year.
Note: I don't really like overly hoppy beer. If you're an IPA person, this (marzen) isn't the style you're looking for. But if you like malt-forward beers, it's really great.
This is an incredible deal. Getting it at regular price of $1/bottle is a decent deal. At this price, I'd clear out the store.

Most --not all -- beer snobs I've met don't know jack about flavor outside of hops. To them, whatever beer tastes most like a rose's butthole is the best.

Haha, the beer snobs you know are all IPA lovers. I love IPA and just beer in general. The people I am talking about won't drink anything from anywhere that isn't micro. They hate all macro and BFM (big effing manufacturer). I think it is silly that just because a place gets big, means that their beer isn't good. I think when places like Firestone Walker change their best IPA and maybe my favorite IPA of all time in Union Jack that is a mistake. I have tried thousands of beers and I still love Bud, Rolling Rock and wish we could get Yuengling here.
In Charlotte, NC area for $18. Saw this post and ran to my nearest store. Didn't have them on the floor but there was a pallet with just a couple of the racks. They were happy to get it down for me to take one! Score!

Sam Adams is THE microbrew!
I live in New England, so the NE-IPA is 90% of all microbrews. Essentially everyone wants to beat Heady Topper from Alchemist or anything from Treehouse.
I'm with you. Good beer is good beer. I'll drink Bud, though it's far from my favorite. I love Rolling Rock and Yuengling, especially the black&tan. I also have a soft spot for Old Style, but the closest I can get out here is PBR. Which I will indeed drink unironically from time to time.

I used to love PBR, then someone told me that it tastes like corn flakes, and every time I drink it that is all I can taste. Liquid corn flakes. Heady Topper is awesome, Tree House is overrated and the price is inflated for sure. I have never had the BnT, I have only ever had OG Yuengling because I used to trade on Beer Advocate.
My buddy goes back east and oversees and gets awesome stuff but never remembers the Yueng! He did get a case of Westvletern 12 that was cellared for 7 years that I am pretty excited about.
