American Express via Amex Offers [americanexpress.com] is offering select American Express Cardholders: One-Time $5 Statement Credit when you spend a minimum of $15 w/ your enrolled Amex Card at eBay. Offer valid through December 31, 2021. Orders must originate from, and ship to a U.S. location.

OFFER TERMS
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid online only at ebay.com for purchases made in USD via the US version of the website. Orders must originate from, and ship to, a U.S. location. Excludes international purchases, and orders originating from, or shipped to, an international location. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member. You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/2021, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items/services from your qualifying purchase have been shipped/provided by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your purchase as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account. The enrolled Card account must be active, not past due, canceled, or have a returned payment outstanding to receive the statement credit. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Amex Offers are dynamic and personalized, so the offers you see may change. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer.

So you need to do a payment directly via Amex at ebay checkout right? Vs adding the amex card to paypal and then paying via paypal.
Haha - Out of stock on digital gift cards. Classic eBay.
You have to pay with Amex on the ebay site, so Amex knows. If you use paypal to pay funded by Amex, it will just show paypal on the transaction so you won't get the credit.

Got it on my Blue cash. Repped.

Yeah, here's my problem: in the Terms, this offer reads:
"Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/2021, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items/services from your qualifying purchase have been shipped/provided by merchant. . . . If American Express does not receive information that identifies your purchase as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit."
In my case, the "merchant" was a private seller of a used Epson scanner, which I paid for on eBay using Amex when the seller and I negotiated a price. Now, does this guy have to confirm to Amex that I made a "qualifying" purchase.
yep, because the seller was "private" instead of "public", the seller has to write a letter to amex explaining that the price was negotiated and that you didn't pay the full price. seller should include a brief explanation of how much profit he made so that amex can determine if the purchase qualifies as a deal. and finally, don't forget to include his "merchant" number. only certain sellers can be "merchants" because amex doesn't want counterfeit ebay sellers to exchange customer information over the super secret secure amex information exchange system. only then will they release the $5 to you but i would expect this to take the full 90 days for sure. /s /s /s

cmon steve, that's not how this works! don't overthink it.

when you make a transaction through ebay everything is through their platform/system and everything goes through coded as such. theres nothing this one random seller has to do for it to qualify. the only qualifying requirement is that you purchase something on ebay where seller is shipping from, and to US addresses.

I recently had a $5 off 15 subway. I followed all the terms and conditions but never received the $5. I told them about it and last i heard, they said they would look into it. If it was more money, I would follow up but I'm not chasing $5

Even more classic eBay.

Honestly, if you told me that eBay management was intentionally trying to sabotage the company, I would believe you. Someone should check to see who is shorting their stock.

I have been a seller on eBay for 20 years this January, and I have seen it steadily go downhill for quite a while now. Yes, it's bigger, but it's certainly not better. It's actually much, much worse.
They are going to see a huge drop off in sales starting in 2022, with the new IRS reporting requirements

Got it, thanks. 5/5
I thought the new Amex Offer changed so that you can only add it to one card per household? How does 5/5 help you get the offer 5x?

Each card is tied to an individual SS#.

Can I do multiple purchases to add up to $15?
Or it has to be $15 on one purchase?
To get $5 credit

Purchased $14 socks from Adidas official today, which came to $14.84 after tax, so I added a $1 filler USB cable (shipped from US). Attempted this twice, with my card and my wife's. Did not receive an email from Amex saying i used the offer. Will update if i get the credit.

Edit: after items shipped I got the email from AMEX for both accounts.
