Was keeping an eye out for 5ft but this is tempting.
HD has a 5foot aluminum for $19 on BF.

Sorry to be daft, when standing at the top recommended safe step on the ladder, How many inches above the ground would I be standing?

Home Depot HAD a $19 5 foot aluminum ladder LAST Black Friday. That's the ad from 2020.

The second step is roughly 2 feet high. So in ladder-speak, this ladder has an '8 foot reach'.

Okay so basically my feet would be 24 in off the ground? In my mind that gives me 24 in extra reach versus standing on the ground and that's what I'm wondering.

This is also practically a 2-step. Since the 2nd to last and last platform aren't meant to be stepped on. But you could do it if you want. Just don't let OSHA see you.
Yeah I know, I looked at the reach height before buying. Still, I don't free stand and step on the non-step parts since my balance has gotten worse as I've gotten older.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I have one of these ladders. Along with a 6', 8', and 10'.

Unless you really need this 4' step ladder for a specific purpose, I'd pass.

You are much better off just getting a Step Stool. If you have a quality Step Stool and this 4' Ladder, you will be reaching for the step stool 99% of the time. This small ladder is almost more trouble than it is worth. It is much heavier, harder to open-close, more clumsy, and much harder to move around than a regular step stool.

These are great when working up high and straddling the top.
