Unless you really need this 4' step ladder for a specific purpose, I'd pass.
You are much better off just getting a Step Stool. If you have a quality Step Stool and this 4' Ladder, you will be reaching for the step stool 99% of the time. This small ladder is almost more trouble than it is worth. It is much heavier, harder to open-close, more clumsy, and much harder to move around than a regular step stool.
but around the holiday times, they start pumping out the cheapened garbage versions
home depot did the same thing back in 2019 with their red werner "holiday special" 4ft fiberglass for $20. it was really sneaky b/c the actual red werner fiberglass ladder is rated for 300 lbs

Where are all the small women asking if anyone has a link to cheaper option because this is double the strength they need?

For outdoor, it depends on your home. If one-story and not many trees, then an 8' Fiberglass step ladder. If two-story and trees, then maybe a 10' -12' Fiberglass step ladder or Extension ladder.
The beauty of a step stool is you can fold it up and shove it in a corner, or slide it between something in the laundry room or kitchen for storage and ease of access. Can't do that with a 4' ladder, it takes up the floor space footprint of a large ladder and you have to store it in the garage.
They also make 3-step stools that are probably taller than this 4' ladder.

Sale price is all these things are worth in my opinion. Very flimsy linkage makes it so the ladder doesn't open smoothly or easily.
Price showing as good until January 31 for my store.
