Love Lutron but have Like 3 extra hubs already. Need a good deal on a kit without it..
Nice first deal OP! We've had Lutron switches for several years now and have never had any issues.
Older houses don't have neutral wire which is required all of those newer switches. If you don't have neutral, you have to do this, C by GE or one of several Zigbee/Zwave switches like Innovelli.

I was looking into this because I don't have a neutral wire (my house is a 1974 build) but I couldn't pass up $35 C by GE dimmer switches due to cost, google assistant compatibility lack of hub and of course, no neutral wire requirement. Reviews were hit or miss but I figured I'd try it. I bought 23 of them. So far about 10 installed with no real issues with the exception that I wish the dimmest setting was dimmer. I'm using them with recessed wafer lights throughout the house. Just my 2 cents for anyone who is in a similar position as myself.

I bit the bullet and will be giving this a go in my living room before adding more. Thanks!

ETA: I also had the AMEX $10 off $50 offer to make it even better.

Same here. Need just the switches/dimmers only. Love Lutron, it is so stable and almost no problems for years now.

I agree with the above post. Rarely a deal on just the switches/dimmers. I have had a slickdeals search out for a year now and I think this was the only hit so far.

So is the reason they cost more than competitors the stability they provide versus the competition?

In my experience, yes. It's the stability and the compatibility with Apple and Google products that makes Lutron worth it. I love tech, but I'm not one who enjoys fiddling with smart home stuff - opening up an app to turn a lamp on makes no sense to me. I like to set it up and forget about it, and that's basically what you can do with Lutron. It's also great if you have people in your house who aren't tech-savvy, since the switches and remotes are pretty intuitive.

I have multiple 3-gang and 4-gang sets of switches. Do these allow for multiples to get squeezed in together? Lots of wires already in some of these gang-boxes...

These worked great for my older home without a neutral wire present but in a new house got all zooz z-wave stuff instead. Much cheaper and same result at end of the day.

Yes, each switch is a standard 1-gang width, but you may run into issues with the depth of your box if you have thick, rigid old wiring in there.
