Vizio has 3 Yr mfg warranty.
Hisense only 1. Also overall reviews for U6G are better but equally worse reviews for their QC and panel lottery.
I have had 2 vizios till now and never had any issues .. so personally I would go with Vizio

I needed a 65inch, this is not only rated well on rtings but also recommended on the 4KTV subreddit buying guide, so i'm in.

Interesting. I read there were color gradient issues too.
Actually, I felt like the gradient wasn't that bad even though RTNGS gave it a 7.2 out of 10 or something like that. I did notice terrible macroblocking on dark lower bit scenes though, and that is also a pretty large negative for me.

Any idea what tv you'll get instead?
I was actually thinking about this one, for $400 less than the Hisense U8G, I thought I might be able to deal with any issues, but the more I think about it the more I am just going to wait for a refurbished or good sale on an OLED or TCL 6 series.

I recently bought a m65q7-h1 which is 2020 65" M series. Granted, it was an open box and paid about $550. I absolutely love it. I also have 2017 55" Sony Bravita that costed +$1200. I want to say it is almost on par with that TV. If sony is 100 pts, m65q7-h1 is 85 pts. Follow the rting.com picture setting then it is good to go (mine improve a lot after the adjustment). I would definitely buy this TV if I haven't bought the 2020 65 m7 tv from bestbuy.

GT has the x950 for 1250 last I checked. A discerning buyer like you might appreciate that improved PQ, unless you need the gaming oriented features.

Thanks, what is "GT"? I'm actually very interested by the VRR option for TVs, and would prefer a 120hz panel if I can get it. the 120hz and VRR on the Hisense U8G were actually amazing, but man was the color bad compared to my 55 inch OLED in my office.

The URL is blocked here, unfortunately, as a competitor I guess. It's a broker middleman service between authorized dealers and consumers. Name is green toe.

As for the TV then yes I guess you need to try the 6 series, x90j (not that VRR is implemented yet) or another OLED next. All TV's have flaws right now, unfortunately. Pick your poison.

From a technical standpoint, what does HDMI 2.1 get you on a 60 hz TV? I'm not very familiar. Is 4k HDR 60hz compressed on HDMI 2.0? Does 2.1 just give you the bandwidth to go an uncompressed video signal?

All 4 HDMI inputs are labeled as HDMI 2.1 per the HDMI.org definition because they support VRR (Freesync), ALLM and eARC. The inputs support signals up to 18Gbps (4k/60).

Probably gonna get this instead of shitty Element from Target.
Do it! I have had my first Vizio for over 10 years. I got it before the smart tv was a thing and 1080p had just come out! The thing still works great (unlike all my friends tv's that they've had to replace over the years like the roku or Sony). I put it side by side my newer 2019 Vizio (bought a new one only because I wanted a bigger screen). The 10+ year Vizio is still going strong! I've never had any issues with it and works like new. So of course I will always stick with Vizio! They even sent me a brand new remote for free after mine got stuck in a blanket and went through the washer and didn't work for a couple days. Great company and great tv's for the price!
