As good of a deal this is... this ladder is too short for the pain in the butt these are to open. Costco sells a Cosco (no relation) 4ft step ladder for $40. But its a one handed open. Imo when you need a step ladder you want something thats easy to grab and open because generally you need it for something quick like changing a light bulb.

If this was a 5ft or 6ft the standard open makes sense. But at <4ft you are better w the quick opening step ladders. And tbh I've never seen these 4ft fiberglass type ladders till this year. The standard for Q4 promos had always been 5ft. My guess this was to out promo HD on shock factor price.

TU on the deal though bc at the end of the day this is a solid ladder for $25.

Applause This. The step stool at Costco actually provides more reach than this ladder. You're only gaining 1'-6" of reach if you're using this ladder properly.

I actually use a 4' ladder like this daily. Its a great size for working in homes and easily carrying in and out. I prefer it to the big step stools.

these are perfect for hanging Xmas lights in and around the garden planter. also helps with hedge trimming.. you need something with 4 legs which can go into the ground to stabilize. the 6ft version is too wide at the bottom, taking up too much space. the costco ladders, which has higher reach are not too stable for the garden, some with a flat bar for support. these have a special use and buy it if you need it.

Generally speaking, yes. But they have all different sizes. 4 footers are great for indoor or garage. 6 footers are great all around, 8 footers are great for getting on the roof but harder to transport, north of 8 foot you get into really big ladders that get tougher to transport and store. Hopefully this helps.

Double sided (Werner calls them Twin Stepladders) are my favorite, but usually a bit heavier to carry around.

Should never stand on the very top of a ladder.
