Love my eero's but there have been huge software bugs past few releases. If you absolutely care for a stable connection, stay away.

Been hearing great reviews for the ASUS-GT and might take a plunge.

Hm..a pass for me. To go several days without wifi at home means I'd have to purchase a router locally, trade in my existing one, and then return the router purchased to take advantage of the deal. I think I'll wait for Costco's deal instead and just sell my existing Orbi set locally once received

Unless you have another router you had already out away, I don't see how the trade-in would work for this. Amazon trade-in doesn't retroactively apply this to a purchase. So, you remain without Wifi for a few days while they process the trade-in?
amazon gives you over 2 months to send your trade in to them... you have plenty of time.

Eero pro only does up to a gig. Does it have wan aggregation so you can do over a gig? I pay for gig speed and I'm getting 1300+ with my orbi. Had debated on switching to eero but the max speed thing makes me hesitant. Yes 1300mbps second is overkill for most but I have alot of devices and I work from home. Plus youbshoild always future proof yourself.
21 Devices on Eero Pro 5 with FIOS 100/100 with no issues. I always struggle to see how people need a 1GB connection because I f future proofing?

This was my experience buying a Fire TV Cube with trade in.

1. Register trade in
2. Bought the cube full price (though prime day discounted)
3. Send in trade in
4. Received credit and discount coupon when they received trade in
5. Contacted customer support to apply the discount to my original purchase

While painful it did work and all things like sales tax were corrected appropriately. Good luck!

I've got FiOS Gigabit service here, and closer to 80 devices. It's not just future proofing for some of us.

If you're not a prime member, or want to pay using Paypal for extra 5% cashback via Chase, eero.com also has the same pricing. They've extended their return/refund window until 1/31/2022 as well.

I have a 3 pack of eero 6 (non-pro routers) and have been waiting to add one or more eero 6 pro units. However the past few weeks have been miserable. The 6.5 update broke all my HomeKit and 2.4GHz devices. Their updates are automatic and you can't roll back. Their Support during this time was abysmal. I was instructed to do things that are irrelevant and when I questioned why I got no response and they closed the car.

On top of that, eero won't let you have separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5GHz. I have random drop outs where internet stops working and signal strength appears strong. While this could be Comcast's fault, or my Motorola modem, eero makes it way too hard to troubleshoot their product to figure it out. They also only have gigabit LAN ports while I'm paying for 1.2Gbps down and can't use it all thanks to eero. They also still don't have any units with more than 2 Ethernet ports, yet they sell products with "pro" in the name.

Since I need at least 5 nodes and there seem to be few if any products that are as good for the same price, I'll probably just get another set of 3 non-pros for now and wait until they either come out with a real pro unit to use as a gateway or I'll find another router and put the eeros in bridge mode. Unfortunately with bridge mode you lose functionality and simplicity.

Question, anyone know how long the 20% coupon is good for when you do a trade in?

Found it, use until 2/28/22

Is anyone using / knowledgeable about the zigbee hub in this line of devices?

If so, how well does it work overall? Anything especially good / bad about using it seriously for a home automation hub?

How does it even get found & utilized anyway? I assume "just because" it's registered to the same amazon account as a person's alexa app and
echo device and whatever else the amazon software just knows to look for it and link to it and use it as a hub? So then after that point one can
use any amazon device logged in to that same account to control home LAN based home automation stuff whether one is linked to the same network or one is mobile at another location?

It was seeming like Amazon wasn't even particularly serious about the home automation stuff since until I saw these units nothing but "echo" devices even had zigbee hubs in them and they don't have / sell a stand-alone hub as a product.

This eero integration with a wifi router at least makes a little more sense as a networking gateway, though still isn't ideal unless you actually need another rather expensive wifi router, too....

What do these things do compared to other routers?
