If you have never spent more than this on a TV before or your TV is more than 5-7 years old this will be an upgrade. Are there better TV's... yes, but there are many many worse for the same price (even not on sale).

As already mentioned... it really doesn't compare to OLED (which incidentally costs 3.5 times this price in this size range) and isn't meant to. This is just a huge "okay" TV that offers a lot of bells and whistles at this price.

Hard finding true specs on this tv. But this may not be a good deal if this is accurate.

I agree, you want much higher number of local diming zones, and if you want to watch HDR - higher brightness.

Any recommendations for a TV stand for this ? I have been looking for the past 2.5 hrs and a large majority of stands max out at 70 inch width which may not work for this TV ? Any recommendations from current owners ?

Crazy times we are seeing 85" TVs for under $1500
I've been holding out for X91J (X91CJ) I think it's about 2200 now. I don't know what to do, that or 77" OLED for $2600

Yeah. Wall mount it. I can't imagine going back to using a stand.

Of course it was helpful. Saying that it doesn't compare is extremely helpful. If someone told me that about something, my response would be, "Sweet. Now I know not to bother with this."

There is nothing better on the market than an OLED.

Wall mount it for sure. You can also purchase a separate vesa mount stand base. I bought this for a 75" LG and it works fine. Why LG doesn't use a central base rather than legs as wide as the TV is beyond me.

I am looking for a decent 85" TV under 2k range. There are couple in Costco like this LG one or the Samsung 7 series. I get lost in choosing what specs means what, what should I consider and which one not to worry about.
I need it for regular TV shows, movie watching, no games.
I see you guys are expert in these areas, Can someone suggest me a good deal this season.

I have not bought a TV in a long time. No headphone jack? How are we supposed to connect headphones to this TV? Bluetooth, USB?

This TV is not bad for what you're saying you want especially for the price and the fact that you get a 5 year warranty and 90 days to return it to Costco no questions asked if you change your mind.

I have an order placed for a LG 86" UP8770PUA at the Navy Exchange for $1499.99, which in my opinion is slightly superior, has a newer processor, and a lot of great reviews across multiple sources, so if you're a service member or have a friend that can take you/buy it for you, that could be an option with no tax and no shipping charge.

You're not going to get OLED blacks and overall picture, and as someone who has 2 65 inch LG OLEDs, I'm okay with that for this size of a TV going into the living room just for watching TV and streaming.

An option that would be a step up from both TVs, again in my opinion, would be either a Sony X85 or X90/X91J but you're looking at around $1900 minimum unless some crazy deal comes along.

There was a reddit thread regarding this TV and some guy named Bill Money basically saying all IPS panels are trash and then suggesting to someone they should buy a 1080 DLP projector instead, so I'd take that guy's opinion with a grain of salt.

Either way you really cant go wrong with this TV from Costco for the size and price and warranty and 90 day return window.

Would anyone happen to know how far apart the feet sit on this? Trying to see if it would fit on my current stand. Thanks.
