Nest cameras are 100% integrated into Google home... there is no need to use the nest app unless you want to.

The next cams are not that good. I bought a reolink 4k set of cameras and they are amazing. Even work with Google assistant. Alli have to do is say "camera (name) on (Chromecast name) tv" like even nest is a separate app than Google home, they are not 100% integrated. Why spend double for nest?

Nest cameras are 100% integrated into Google home... there is no need to use the nest app unless you want to.

I got the 12mp 4k just straight camera. No ptz or zoom or solar. I figure those are only good features if someone is monitoring the cameras and sees something. We just set and forget till the police get called. Yes they are PoE

Note that these new cams are battery operated and don't come with power cables. Cables have to be purchased as an additional item.

That I don't know. I haven't personally requested them, a friend just told me that's what they did.

Thanks, I would assume they just give you the short indoor charging cable. FWIW, the 10m outdoor cable is and has been 50% off at Best Buy for quite a while. $20 instead of $40 so still a lot for what it is: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/goog...Id=6474190.

Not true. You can only see the live view in the Google app. If you want to look at the history, you need to use the nest app. Also notifications are sent via the nest app. Overall the nest app is more intuitive.

These are absolutely the worst cameras on the market to purchase for a name brand. They only have a 14-day return.

If you have other Nest cams you have to use two different apps for full function. The Google home app is absolutely atrocious when it comes to security.

The video quality is terrible. The Google home app is absolutely terrible because it's so bloated. There is not a positive thing to say about this camera. Oh oh also, the battery that they state that last for months does not last for months. I have to charge mine every 4 to 5 days based on the settings that I need or that were comparable to the cameras prior to this piece of crap.

I don't post very often but I hope this helps.

No comment on the app situation as that is a huge mess for Google but Best Buy has extended returns right now. Anything purchased between now and January can be returned until January 16th.
