I picked these up and they're going back. The quality is horrendous! Massive downgrade from previous google cameras
Nest cameras are 100% integrated into Google home... there is no need to use the nest app unless you want to.
Fyi- Same prices for all those items that the Google Store plus you get 10% store credit back if you have a 2TB Google One cloud storage account.

I am getting very frustrated with my Google outdoor cameras and Hello doorbell. Notifications lately have been delayed 5 to 20 minutes on my Pixel 4XL. Yes I have battery saver turned off on the Nest app on my phone. My wife's iphone 11 pro max also gets delayed notifications. Have had them for years and never been this bad. I have a few repeaters setup just for the cams, and the repeaters use a dedicated channel back to my router so the wifi speeds are fine. Really frustrating, got a four pack of the outdoor cams a while ago with a great Home Dept clearance hack with free hub, hello I paid full price as soon as it was released. Just doesn't work well any more.

Not true. You can only see the live view in the Google app. If you want to look at the history, you need to use the nest app. Also notifications are sent via the nest app. Overall the nest app is more intuitive.
This is false. You can view full history via the Google Home app.

Does this camera make you use the Google app can you still use the Nest app? I haven't migrated yet.

Seems like the new battery powered models are getting a lot of negative reviews. Does anyone have experience with wiring them outside? Do some of the worries subside?

The next cams are not that good. I bought a reolink 4k set of cameras and they are amazing. Even work with Google assistant. Alli have to do is say "camera (name) on (Chromecast name) tv" like even nest is a separate app than Google home, they are not 100% integrated. Why spend double for nest?
I am in the market for POE cameras. Can you please share the link for reolink camera's?

Amazon and eBay sell them but I think it's all sold by reolink direct from the factory. Or you can just go to www.reolink.com. if you have 4 or more cams I would prob get an NVR too, it does the PoE and it packages and stores all the video. Otherwise you have to buy a PoE switch and memory cards

Im having the same issue on my S21. I don't know what I need to change in settings but the delay in notifications is starting to get annoying.

I think that's definitely one of the big problems, battery life not living up to expectations and not waking quickly enough when motion is detected. I'm planning to wire them and hopefully it mitigates those problems.

These are google home app only. Google needs to get their act together and do a total redesign of google home so it does all the cameras and protects decently. The home app is a major source of the negative reviews as from what I can tell.

The 3 pack was cheaper at Costco. I bought and returned. Quality was just ok and bad battery life

be warned, the 2-pack will only come with a single 3ft charger, same goes with any multi-pack, bought the 3-pack from costco ($429.99) and it came with only one charger. 33ft chargers have a street price of $19.99 so don't go paying MSRP if you're looking. Also, other commenter said these cams work in the nest app and that's simply not true, all new cams including these ones exclusively work in the googleHOME app and there is no way to view them outside the app including on the web. google confirmed they are working on it but we have nothing so far.

i know everyone is thumbing their nose on these cams but my house is highly invested in the google ecosystem and we're stuck paying the early adopter tax with early adopter features bugs but i have faith that eventually it'll be good again.
