I searched and could not find any other post under Verizon or phones, or Costco, so hopefully it is not a repost.

I was in Costco to switch to Verizon and saw a new deal that just started on the 10/28.
If you switch to Verizon and bring your own device, you are eligible for a gift card between $350 and $500.

The promotion runs from 10/28/21 to 12/31/21.

If you get one of the Premium (Do More, Play More or Get More) Unlimited plans, you get the $500 gift card.
If you get one of the cheaper unlimited plans such as the 55+, Just Kids, etc, then you get the $350 gift card.

Each line you bring over is eligible. I brought 4 lines over so I will be getting $2000 in Verizon gift cards. Max of 5 offers per account ($2500)

Each line/IMEI must be active for 45 days. Afterwards, you can take advantage of any promotions to upgrade to a new phone. This would also allow upgrades during the holiday period of mid December.

You must submit the claim within 30 days.

You will receive the gift card within 8 weeks after submitting the claim.

If you do not want to stay with Verizon, you probably could sell the gift card, unless they somehow link it to the account. It is unclear if you can use the gift card for phones/devices, or just for service.

If you want to stay with Verizon, after the 45 days, you can downgrade to a cheaper plan. With 4 lines, my cost would be $45 plus tax for the Play More Unlimited, and my kids would get the Just Kids for $35 plus tax. Assuming 2 months of the higher plans, and then the cheaper plans after that, we will be getting service for free for over 10 months!

If you like your phone, and are bringing over multiple lines, this is an unbelievable deal.

We reserve the right to charge the amount of the Verizon Gift Card to your Verizon Wireless account if service is canceled within 12 months or change your price plan from an eligible unlimited plan

This is the truth. Verizon have by far the best coverage and they know it. Crazy rates and fees, crappy deals (especially for existing customers), and garbage customer service. They're basically daring you to switch to another carrier.
Each carrier has the best service somewhere. Where I live, they are very competitive. BUT, while VZW was absolute king on 4G, AT&T has taken over on 5G. AT&Ts 5G has crazy far coverage and even gets where neither AT&T or Verizon could get to before (inside certain large buildings in the area).

I switched for the price, and better promotions on AT&T. That was right before the 5G rollouts began. Once 5G rolled out, I watched them both, ready to change back if Verizon took back over, but AT&T seems to have the better 5G still, and the better plans (Unlimited with no 5G cap)

Given this, the OP's claims of making a boatload of money are wildly exaggerated. This isn't a money maker.

Is it still a decent deal, though? I see $40 for Do More or Play More plus taxes and fees if you have five lines on your account. So $480 per line for the year, plus taxes and fees. Depending on how much these "taxes and fees" cost, the $500 gift card per line could more or less cover the service.

Five lines on Do More or Play More for a year for free (or close to free) still seems like a good deal, no? I'm genuinely curious. I tend to hop from MVNO to MVNO every few months based on deals (currently Cricket with the "free" Moto One 5G). Locking in a year of Verizon service for close to free sounds pretty good.

I did the $450 BYOD Verizon deal earlier this year. (Right before they raised the amount to $650, doh!) It's a pretty sweet deal if you use the gift card to pay monthly bills. But what I do not like is there is no way to track or confirm on the website when your 12 month commitment period has ended. You just sort of have to assume it's 12 months from the date you signed up.
I did the same offer last year. For me, the easiest way to track is just pull up your billing history. I just had my 12th bill post so I know I've been there a year now. I don't plan to leave anyways so it's no big deal to me.

I see that there is a 12 month commitment. What I can't find is how long must you have been a non-Verizon member to take advantage of this offer. I switched to T-Mobile about 4 months ago from Verizon. Verizon's terms and conditions are not easy to find.
Well Verizon started sending me come back messages about a month after I left them so they probably don't care too much when

I had verizon for about 15 years and when I went to close my accounts/transfer lines they forced into paying even more closing money, even though my phones were payed off, something about some stupid $5 a month discount. that's not how you deal with long time customers!

And now they keep sending me offer of $400 so I come back

verizon can go to hell!

switched to Mint Mobile and never looked back

Is the 55+ only good in Florida?

Just to re-confirm some of the questions - yes this is a Verizon only gift card good for purchases at a Verizon store or applied as credit to your account.

What this means is that, for a year, Verizon service can be super cheap for you. In the OP's example where he brought four lines - If each line had the most expensive unlimited plan you're going to run about $250 a month after taxes so 3000 for the year. But he's getting 2000 in Verizon credit he can apply to the account. So you're only at about $85/mo for four lines with unlimited data, priority access since you're a normal postpaid customer, Disney+ bundle included (Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu (ad supported) which is a $14/mo value - it will put your yearly subscription on hold for as long as you're a verizon customer so if you pre-bought the three year deal you'll still get your three years. And you can upgrade to Hulu ad-free for 5.99/mo), Discovery+ ($5/mo), Apple Arcade ($5/mo), Google Play Pass ($5/mo), and Apple Music ($10/mo).

There's some big if's here - but if you want Verizon post-paid service for a year, and you have lines to bring over and you can take advantage of Verizons included extras then its a pretty solid deal

Anyone know if the medical staff discount is still going and if it stacks with this?

Works with Military and First Responder's discount too. So you save another $40 a month per account with 4-5 lines.

No, but apparently the deal that was on last month was different from this month's. I missed that when I first commented.

I'm currently in the process of doing this with a switch from T-Mobile. You can combine with teacher discount. There is a $35 per line activation fee. It isn't exclusive to Costco, you can do it online too if you find that to be more simple. If you have any tablets/smart watches, make sure you choose a "do more" plan for one of the lines because you get 50% off those accessory lines and it ends up only $5 a month.
