I searched and could not find any other post under Verizon or phones, or Costco, so hopefully it is not a repost.

I was in Costco to switch to Verizon and saw a new deal that just started on the 10/28.
If you switch to Verizon and bring your own device, you are eligible for a gift card between $350 and $500.

The promotion runs from 10/28/21 to 12/31/21.

If you get one of the Premium (Do More, Play More or Get More) Unlimited plans, you get the $500 gift card.
If you get one of the cheaper unlimited plans such as the 55+, Just Kids, etc, then you get the $350 gift card.

Each line you bring over is eligible. I brought 4 lines over so I will be getting $2000 in Verizon gift cards. Max of 5 offers per account ($2500)

Each line/IMEI must be active for 45 days. Afterwards, you can take advantage of any promotions to upgrade to a new phone. This would also allow upgrades during the holiday period of mid December.

You must submit the claim within 30 days.

You will receive the gift card within 8 weeks after submitting the claim.

If you do not want to stay with Verizon, you probably could sell the gift card, unless they somehow link it to the account. It is unclear if you can use the gift card for phones/devices, or just for service.

If you want to stay with Verizon, after the 45 days, you can downgrade to a cheaper plan. With 4 lines, my cost would be $45 plus tax for the Play More Unlimited, and my kids would get the Just Kids for $35 plus tax. Assuming 2 months of the higher plans, and then the cheaper plans after that, we will be getting service for free for over 10 months!

If you like your phone, and are bringing over multiple lines, this is an unbelievable deal.

I qualify for the employer discount through my employer. Will registering for the employer discount disqualify from this $500 promotion?

do they still charge you "line access fee" per line monthly? on all their plans?

never mind, i did a couple of chats.....and at first both reps said there is only a 1 time access fee and that's it, after i copy and pasted their line access fee charge from their website they finally succumbed and said yes there is a monthly access fee, minimum $20 per line per month.
Wait. So let's say you are getting 4 lines for the "Play More Unlimited" for $45 per line. You're saying there's a "line access fee" per line as well so you end up with $65 per line rather than the $45 that's advertised on their site?

I see the site says "$45 Per line per month. Plus taxes & fees." but didn't imagine fees to be $20 per line. Yikes

Just double check because that's what I think it is. And ask the SD people here that are on Verizon. Even the Verizon reps try to hide that extra fee from you. That's how expensive Verizon is.

There's no shared bucket with this plan (aka line access fee), so the price per line is as stated.

The best price point is at the 5-line mark, where the Play More plan drops to $40/mo after auto-pay with debit. Also includes Disney+ if you already subscribe to that for additional savings (like T-Mobile with Netflix).

So if it's a shared bucket plan that's when you get hit by an access fee? Any lines with its own data plan does not get charged that access fee? It's confusing.

Yes, when you have a shared bucket then the Line Access Fee comes into place. One one account, I still have FebUDP, which is a $100 "unlimited" bucket and $20/mo per line access. On another account that I also manage is today's More plans. I have 6 lines all on Play More @ $40/mo per line.

Ohhh ok, thanks for clarifying that. I never knew Verizon had a shared plan. Last time I had Verizon when they had that Best Buy OG Pixel deal for.... I forgot how much.

Ya no problem. Some people on here still have shared data as well, ex: 8GB "bucket" for $60, then $20/line to share that 8GB lol.

The *really* old plan is actually shared minutes (ex: NW450 -- 450 shared minutes). Then you pay $15/line to share those minutes, but each individual line has their own data (ex: 2GB for +$25)

Earlier someone mentioning the Rat giving a $150/line bonus. Currently it is $75. Bingo Rebates is now offering $115/line. I took a chance and tried to sign up five lines with BYOD offer. Of course there was an issue with my app and I have to call a # to see what the issue is. Wish me luck!

I'm at the end of my Tello 6 month deal for 2 lines. Can I bring my phones over to this Verizon deal, sign up for the Play More for $40/mo (I already have 5 lines on the Start Unlimited at $30/month/line) and then downgrade those lines downto Start Unlimited?

How long do I need to wait before i can downgrade the line without having the $500/line charged back? Or am I stuck with the $40 line for some amount of time?

Trying to understand the 45 day and 12 month conditions....

If I switch the lines from Tmobile with my sister's account name to Verizon with my own name, would the lines still qualify for this promotion? Or should the account be under the same name? Thanks.

I was in Asia for 1 month and they were charging me $10 per day just because I had my phone on but never used it. I had to keep it on since it was a business line in case something important came up. I was sharing a verizon line from a friend for about a year. When i came back to the state i had to pay him an extra $200 or so just because i had the verizon phone on.
For Verizon overseas charge of $10 per day, did you purchase TravelPass or something? If so, what would happen without the pass, leaving the phone turned on while travelling overseas?

Even with their GC and lowest plan, I still pay less per month with Xfinity Mobile and have the same service. 2 Phones

Do you need to port in for this promo or can you simply activate a new number and line with a BYOD?

i spoke with several verizon representative. Doesn't matter what you purchase Travelpass or anything. You still looking at a minimum of $10 per day. I needed to have my phone on since it was a business line and I wanted to make sure i didn't miss any calls. Now if you only oversea for 4-7 days thats not a big deal. But i was oversea for a month and that really starts to add up. Overall each has it own perks. Verizon works great here in pretty much all of the CA mountains (north&south) I've been too where Tmobile is just plain TERRIBLE in the mountains here. Sometimes you can't even make calls. Tmobile great oversea with their free data. I just go about anywhere with my wife and don't have to worry about losing her since we can just text each other or I can use the free data to book a room while on the train or whatever. Don't have to worry about any data caps or charge. I don't think any other carrier offer that w/o an extra charge. But Tmobile service has really gotten bad here in past 1-2yrs. and I really know what this 5G crap they're advertising is because i definitely don't see it.
