It will 100% not work with the PS5 if you get it with the heatsink tho, that thing is huge. Lol.

Actually, like the other poster said, don't get it for your PS5 at all, as it is below the 5500MB/s speed (it is listed as only getting 5,000). While benchmarks right now might show that slower speeds work with the current games, the PS5 has barely been out a year, so the games are definitely going to go up, so future-proof yourself and make sure you get a drive that is at least 5500MB/s read speed.
This is a heatsink designed specifically for the PS5 by the same company. It's much smaller Smilie

I'm glad to see ssd come down in price.. expecting 4tb to be this price by next year though...
nope, wont happen. gen 5 drives coming out that will drive prices right back up. exactly what happened when gen 4 came out. prices stopped dropping, unless you're okay with buying older/likely altered versions of their products

This 100% works with PS5. It tests at 5626MBs when in the system. Has worked with the same load times as internal storage. I have the 1tb model.

I got 30% off amazon for discover. Looking for a 1TB Samsung M2 drive. Any suggestion on 970 Evo plus vs 980 Pro. Or any other good deal on 1TB M2 drives. I usually buy Samsung for reliability and never had problems. Thanks

No it doesn't. ANY pci expeess gen 4 works.
It "technically" works, but you're long-term putting yourself in a bad position because when more demanding games come out, the limitations of the slower PCIe cards will likely show themselves.

So, you can either spend the money and then have to buy a second one later down the road or just do it once and do it right.

You won the chip lottery as Sabrent only GAURENTEES a stated sequential read speed of 5000 MB/s while the PS5 has a stated minimum requirement of 5500 MB/s. This means that many of the drives won't meet spec. The SSD from Sabrent that is actually PS5 gaurenteed has a gaurenteed sequential read speed of 7000 MB/s. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09G2MK...SFWV921FHB

Agreed,

If you're looking to use in a PS5 it's strongly recommended you go with the "Rocket+". Decent price too. Most Gen4's with this speed hover around 200$ for 1TB. Personally, I have a WD SN850. I had originally bought a non-plus Gen4 Rocket in anticipation for PS5's unlocked slot buuuuut they're underspec'd per Sony's recommendation.

You can totally use a sub 7000 MB/s but you could run into loading or hitching issues; possibly moreso in the future when more games are built for "current gen".

For what it's worth, I run this non-Plus Rocket drive in my PC and it works very well.

Am I reading right that 250GB is $250? Or should it be 2TB?

Do NOT get this for your ps5. It needs to be gen4 AND minimum 5500 mb/s read to be compatible
No? It doesn't?
